You are offered a job where you could make $30,000 per week, with 4 weeks of vacation, but the job is that you sit in a pitch black room all by yourself for 8 hours a day (no computer, no cell phone, etc.).

Do you take the job or no?

I take all 3 weeks of vacation at my current job all at once, take the job, do it for 3 weeks, make $90K, abruptly quit and return from vacation to my current job. Boom, debt completely paid off.

Let's say you cannot take vacation until you've worked for 6 months.

What then?

Taking this question on its face and not trying to play games with it, I think I'd probably go mad. Like, actually mad.

I know. I still can't decide.

I'm with you. I need to have my brain stimulated. No way I could maintain my sanity with that job.

I'm taking vacation from my current job. I have no intention of taking any of the vacation from this one. I'd do it for 3 weeks, make $90k, then quit and go back to work at my current employer.

Gotcha. I misread your post.

Can I have a radio? Maybe a flashlight to read? Or, are you saying there is nothing going on...you sit and stare into blackness all day, no sound, no light, no stimuli?

Regardless...$30,000 a week...I'm going to try and give it a go for a year maybe. And with the vacation time that takes it down to only 11 months. I have plenty of stimuli outside of work, I think I could do it. Maybe approach it like I was working 3rd shift. Stay up and do what I want all night, sleep 8:00-4:00.

You can't have anything.

I would take it. I usually don't get 8 hours of sleep now

I'd try, not sure anyone (very few) could do it for a significant amount of time. Unless sleep was an option, then yes.

If you're allowed to sleep, you bet. Kinda doing that now, our systems have been down all day, only thing we have is internet.

I'm not sure we could last 6 months to get the vacation days.
