If everyone is covered, it isn't worse IMO. The cost is secondary. Everyone having healthcare that wants and needs it is primary. Yes I believe they will make middle class pay for it, but they shouldn't.

 

But that makes no sense. You tell me the industry is the problem, which I agree. But the reason they are the problem is cost. You then say cost doesn't matter but go on to say ALL should have affordable healthcare. You agree it will likely be the middle class paying for it. How in the world does that make it affordable for all? That just continues to burden the middle class, which can only make it worse. Honestly, BM, not caring about cost is why we're in the fix we're in. You, and everyone, should care about the cost. Rein in cost or chuck the darn thing, both Obamacare and what's now being proposed.

Are you willing to accept quadruple the taxes you are paying now to support it? Liberals spend a lot of time and energy contemplating spending with no regard to how it is funded. I have no interest in funding health care for people that make personally irresponsible decisions. Liberals always seek to shield people from the consequences of their decisions. Drug addicts, the obese, tobacco addicts, alcoholics need to suffer the consequences of their own decisions. Having "public safety nets" only reinforces irresponsible decisions.

Obamacare is imploding mainly due to Republicans inability to fix and or replace and the uncertainty in the marketplace. Insurance companies need to know today the rules they are playing under next year because they are setting rates for next year right now. Republicans need to wrap this up immediately for next year's rules one way or the other. If they can't come up with any solutions right now, they should leave the rules in place as is and table it till next year. Then the insurance companies would know what to expect and could set rates and areas they will cover.

No it isn't. It's imploding because it was a pathetic, poorly thought through, weak excuse for healhcare that was pushed through so Obama could have something to hang his hat on. The hat rack broke like everyone knew it would. It never addressed the real issues and neither does what the Republicans are proposing.

It's a wonder the president can't lead his party to unite behind a bill with such keen insight like this.

There are plenty. France, Canada, U.K., Switzerland, Australia, Singapore, etc...

 

All have different qualities that may or may not be beneficial to our healthcare system.

 

Let's not pretend that people don't leave here to get healthcare also.
