Agreed, they easily had half a dozen rim out, hopefully they go the other way tomorrow.

Kunkel is playing some good ball right now. S. McNeil needs to step it up a little if Cooper wants to keep moving forward.

Neither team shot very well. But Cooper pulls off the W. Weick led Meade County with 15 Points & 7 Boards, Baker finished with 7 & 8 Boards before fouling out. Cooper was led by Adam Kunkel with 16 Points.

Naysayers can say what they want about Cooper's cold shooting. I'll let it pass because they don't know what comes first with Cooper and that's defense. As long as that is on point I'll take ugly wins. Holding the presumed impact player to 7 points let's me know Cooper is doing what the are accustomed to, playing defense. Forcing 19 turnovers is huge. The offense will come.

Tonight Cooper overcame the "Diarrhea Factor."

 

Tomorrow, playing on St. Patrick's Day, they will have to overcome the "Potato Famine Factor." That and the fact that Collins probably played less than they are capable of vs Elliot County tonight, and should be MUCH MORE focused in the Elite Eight round.

I don't think people are naysayers at all. Just making the point they have to shoot better the deeper you go. Everyone knows the "d" will be there. This is really good team that struggled shooting and won. That's great. Again, just stating where they need to play better. This is a state contender that did not play as well as normal.

I don't disagree that they could and most likely will shoot better tomorrow but for their first trip ever too Rupp I'll take it even if it wasn't pretty.

I need to give a couple shout outs. 1 to Dante for shutting down Baker when he was in the floor. Another to Tyler Ollier who came up BIG when Dante got in foul trouble and had to come out. Tyler draining 2 big 3's when Cooper couldn't buy a basket.

Same could be said for Cooper. I like Cooper's makeup more than Collins. I think Cooper wins against Collins tomorrow as both teams will be more settled in and adjusted to the bright lights of Rupp Arena.
