March 11, 20179 yr I was frustrated with Bama getting so many off. boards and out rebounding U.K. Aside from that, like yesterday I was impressed with the Cats defense today. D. Fox w/ 28 and him taking over down the stretch was key. Monk looked a lot better, getting his shot back (20pts. I think) and playing what seemed to be more focused overall. I still can't figure out that kid's (Monk) mind set half the time. A tournament win, get back to the hotel, get rest and be ready to take another SEC double (season + tourney champs) .......Survive and Advance.
March 11, 20179 yr The Cats scratched out another tough win! Doesn't have to be pretty. With this bunch I'm looking for grit and fight! The Hawk is the grittiest guy we have and I love this kid! Not only as a basketball player but as an outstanding person! Cheers!
March 11, 20179 yr Exactly, when they get Bam the ball down low he should just turn and shoot / dunk and not pause like he often does. There are few that can begin to match up with Bam in the low post. .....go to the score and it's 2 pts., a foul or both Sometimes that pause draws a double team though and can turn into great outside looks from others.
March 11, 20179 yr I don't care what anyone says. Even though they are not as fun to watch as the beginning of the season when they were scoring 100 a game. Imo this team is better now than at the start. We know this team can play a fast pace if needed. However this team is better defensively and in the half court offense than they were to start the year. This team is so much better. It's two different teams really.
March 11, 20179 yr You get the feeling that UK fell to their 28th win today???????? No, UK beat a team that was playing for their NCAA tournament lives. 10 in a row and people are still upset

March 11, 20179 yr Im with you. But when I read posts, It amazes me sometimes. I was just checking to see if we actually won today or did I miss something 10 in a row and playing for SEC championship. You'd think fans would be encouraged.
March 11, 20179 yr If only these 5 loss cats could have beat a 7 loss UNC team in the OOC schedule they could probably play their way into a 1 seed with a win tomorrow. But then again they did beat UNC and tomorrow's games have no meaning to the committee. :ohbrother:

These committees seem to vary on what criteria they use each year to seed teams. Perhaps this year winning 11 in a row will carry some weight. Of course U.K. Would have to win tomorrow.

What Duke does tonight will have some impact on where UNC lands, as well as where the Blue Devils land. But UK is essentially locked in where there are after today's win. They won't be moving up or down as far as seeding goes, although their region may change. Tomorrow's game is just a feather in the hat for whoever wins honestly, the committee has said in the past that they don't use the Sunday games for seeding.

I really wish that college basketball would use a committee and a system like they use in college football. Perhaps in January they could put out a top 20 for the public to follow along leading up to selection Sunday. As Cal has said before it's always a moving target with this committee and you really don't know for sure until the brackets are released!

As Cal has said before it's always a moving target with this committee and you really don't know for sure until the brackets are released! They did release some "projected" seeding sometime in February for the first time ever, so maybe they are going in that direction. But everyone will likely laugh if they reference the projected seeding with what really happens on Sunday.
