I'm sure Judge Burdette would like to take some credit???

Well I would definantly not say they are great by any means. They lost to a very average Lincoln county team and haven't played great. What makes them good is the ability to use there big guys up front and get a push then run right behind them. They are also a very good defense.

What Makes Rockastle such a great team this season?

 

Are you in the same season I am? Rockcastle is a good team but by no means are they a GREAT team this year. They have had some very good teams over the years but this year is not one of them. They lost to an average Lincoln Co. team and only beat 2A Corbin 2-0 on a very very controversial call. Rock is far from great this year.

I think Rockcastle is a good team and I do agree they don't have the best kicking game but you have to give them credit where credit is due. The kids there they have heart and a good soul to play a winning game and seasons year after year and that is what it takes to play ball. They have a very good coaching staff and stand behind their players whether they good or bad!!

The season is early. Let's see how it turns out. Improvements need to be made but I am sure Rock will be there when it counts in Nov. 21 straight winning seasons is nothing to laught about. I am sure a lot of teams would be glad to have it. Potential is with this team. Wait and see!

if memory serves me correct ,a trip thru mt. vernon about 6 to 8 years ago,i stopped at local quick lube, i'm pretty sure of what i heard and saw,full pads and helments in febuarary,i asked the guy working on my vehicle if i saw what i thought i saw?, he says to me, i don't see anything at all. don't get me wrong rock is good and has been for a while, but i would not say they are great.

That is a crazy remark. There are too many of them that play baseball for that to be happening. Baseball team is most always good too.

They were pretty average to begin with last season, but made significant strides as the season progressed. For what its worth, Rockcastle County played Lexington Catholic much better than Bowling Green did last season (trust me, I was at both games). I wouldn't be surprised if they're knocking on the door again this year when its all said and done.

Great is a little stretch right now but year in year out Rockcastle has one of the better programs in the state. Tony Saylor and Coach Larkey do a great job. The community supports their team too which is always a great thing.

I agree that the are always one of the top run defenses in the state. They just flat out clog up the middle as well as anybody. Every defense has a weakness and some teams have exposed that. I think Rockcastle also benefits from the style of play the usually see.

I would give them the vote for the worst uniforms in the state but other than that they are one program that I love to watch! Marty Regan was the poster boy for the program along with Ledger. Regan... tough as nails kind of kid and Ledger the kid that clogs the middle!

The Rock has a lot to be proud of as they have sustained a solid program year in year out. That is a tough thing to do in the mountains sometimes and anywhere in the state really!
