February 27, 20179 yr I wish the Detroit Free Press version was gospel. A UIC/Valpo(without Peters) path would have been preferable to Wright St/Oakland. Need to eliminate the careless turnovers to snip the nets in Motor City. Peters will play in the tournament.
February 27, 20179 yr Peters will play in the tournament. Yesterday, I was talking to a couple of gents from Valpo who were at the game, and they indicated Peters had a stress fracture, and was likely done for the season.
February 27, 20179 yr Yesterday, I was talking to a couple of gents from Valpo who were at the game, and they indicated Peters had a stress fracture, and was likely done for the season. This. The way he was hobbling around on crutches yesterday sure didn't make it seem like he'd be playing any time soon.
February 27, 20179 yr Peters abscence was noticeable, and a major blow to the Crusaders. A legitimate NBA prospect.
February 27, 20179 yr Peters abscence was noticeable, and a major blow to the Crusaders. A legitimate NBA prospect. 23 and 10 are hard numbers to replace. They are still pretty good without him though.
February 27, 20179 yr Brannen sure better be being considered for the conference COY. What is coach Brannen's history? Is he from northern Kentucky?

February 28, 20179 yr Valparaiso's Alec Peters diagnosed with a stress reaction Valparaiso Crusaders senior forward Alec Peters (leg) has been diagnosed with a stress reaction in his leg but remains hopeful to play in the Horizon League tournament, according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN. What It Means: Peters is the heart and soul of Valpo as he leads the team with 23.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. The senior has missed the last two games with the leg injury but is optimistic he will be able to play when the Crusaders next take the court on Saturday. That would give the big man just under two weeks of rest, since he last played on February 21. Valpo's chances of making the NCAA Tournament all depend on their ability to earn the Horizon's auto-bid. Without Peters playing, they will have their work cut out for them, even as a two-seed.
February 28, 20179 yr Whether a diagnosis of stress reaction or stress fracture, from what I've read, minimum recovery time is 4-6 weeks. Whether Peters plays or not, Oakland becomes the favorite, based on the fact they beat Valpo twice, with Peters playing both times. NKU is rolling, but a difficult draw. Both games with Wright St could have gone either way. Then Oakland, then Valpo (if seed holds). Should be a fantastic tournament, with 5 teams realistically hopeful (Oakland, Valpo, Green Bay, NKU, Wright St). Norse up!!
February 28, 20179 yr Yesterday, I was talking to a couple of gents from Valpo who were at the game, and they indicated Peters had a stress fracture, and was likely done for the season. Hope you are right. I just think the league's MVP, given a week of continuous re-hab will have to be pretty bad to not play.
March 1, 20179 yr Very happy that NKU is having the success they are this season. They have come a long way since joining Division I.
March 2, 20179 yr Peters will play in the tournament. Valparaiso's Alec Peters will miss the rest of this season which ends his college career: Valparaiso's Alec Peters is Out for the Rest of the Season | AllKyHoops.com
