The butter hasn't slipped of much of anything that Rosie has eaten. Actually I would say she orders double butter.

 

Bottom line: she is an angry, militant, homosexual and her appeal will soon fade if it hasn't already. She needs to find peace and I feel sorry for her.

 

Comparing Christianity to Islam is a reach. The Muslim religion is one of hate and violence. It teaches to convert by the sword. Mohammed was a violent and now dead prophet.

 

Christianity on the on the other hand teaches love and peace. To convert through witnessing. Jesus was a peaceful man and the big difference is living today.

Here's how I see it. Fanatics of any breed can be dangerous. Rosie chose to take a shot at "Christian" fanatics. Why?

 

I consider the terror being spread by Muslims to be far more mainstream than fanatical. This is what the population is being taught and fed by their religous leaders.

Like so many other instances, people have leapt to conclusions, and decided she's denigrating Christianity as a religion.

True, but it's easier to attack the messenger (in this case, her weight, her friendships, or her sexual orientation. To be honest, I find most of the "shots" taken at Rosie to be quite funny, but they don't negate the point she made about Christian extremists.

This post is taken from the thread discussing the Pope's comments, and his apology. This is a perfect example of the point that Rockmom and I are making. Neither Rockmom, nor myself has "defended" Rosie O'Donnell. We are simply pointing out that her comment regarding Christian extremists is valid.

 

As HHSDad pointed out, her remarks specifically called out "Christian" fanatics, comparing them to Islamic fanatics. I would think that the reason for this is because it was made during a conversation about the two religions. The truth is, extremists of any religion are dangerous - to nonbelievers of that particular faith, and to the good will being fostered by those that follow the religion peacefully.

You know what is the beauty here IMO? Rosie lives in a country that allows her to open her big mouth and pays her to do so in a more-than-public forum. In spite of that, it is my belief that she will most likely always offer up her own sentence. In that, I mean that the overwhelming majority of those who hear her realize her agenda, her attacks, etc. are absent of any real merit. Consider the source and you can't help but pray she changes her position before she stands before the judgement seat of God.

I think a radical lesbian with a national audiance is just a dangerous as a radical Muslim or radical Christian and Rosie is living proof.

 

Is it just me or does the number of radical Muslims seem to be greater than the number of radical anything else? I believe the Pope is now on the "hit list".

 

I believe Rosie was referring to the present day not back in the times of the Crusades or the Roman Empire. I also believe that Rosie was taking a shoot a Christianity in general due to her lifestyle. To believe otherwise is naive.
