We'll have to disagree. While I think there are kooks in any group, I still believe religion is simply an easy excuse for most. I do think many of those who are bombing abortion clinics do have a misguided sense of religious fervor, but as I said, there are unstable people in any group. Also, it's important to distinguish the difference in someone committing an act in the name of God and someone actually representing God or God's church.

Do you believe that because Robertson says he represents God that it is so? If I make chirping noises does that make me a bird? Anyone can claim to represent anything. It is up to each of us to determine if what is being expoused is truly from God. If you can condemn an entire religion based upon the ramblings of Roberton, Falwell, Swaggart etc. then you have no understanding of what Christianity represents.

I'm not condemning Christianity for the words of Robertson any more than I would condemn all of Islam for bin Laden's words. But the fact still remains that both have hundreds of thousands of people who believe those leaders' way is God's way. And that makes both dangerous. Not equally dangerous, but dangerous nonetheless.

Scripture indicates that we are to be leery because there will be false preachers that will mislead us.

 

If you truly read and study Scripture, I believe you will recognize that calling for the death of a head of state is not a Christian mindset. I believe studying of the whole Scripture would indicate killing people in the bombing of abortion clinics is wrong as much as the killing of babies in the abortions are wrong.
