Last year Ryle lost by a blocked field goal that would have sent them to round 2 of the playoffs, i think it was Fern Creek, is that right?

Thats right. It was a 32 yarder by Ross Uminger, now having a great senior year. He said it would have been good from 50, knowing how it left his foot, so the block was the only way to stop it. Was plenty high, someone just broke through and deflected it.

Didn't Breathitt County beat Russell by a last second FG in 2002 to win the semi-finals??

Maybe someone from Breathitt County or Russell can help me out with this one.

I think it was a extra point attempt that Russel missed that cost them that game if I recall.

I believe that Corbin beat Middlesboro in 1980 or 1981 on a Greg Taylor fieldgoal at the end of the game?

I believe that was on Halloween night in 1980. The win gave Corbin the district(maybe sub-district) title which knocked M'boro out of the playoffs and Corbin went on to win the state championship that year. M'boro(ranked #2) returned the favor in 1981 by beating an undefeated and #1 ranked Corbin team thus eliminating them from the playoffs.

Ancient history 1973 Paris vs Frankfort. Teams ranked 1 & 2 in the state,Paris kicks a 34 yard field with about 2 minutes left to win 15-14. Paris went 17-0 won the class A and CKC championships and Frankfort went 9-1 and finished ranked 3rd in the state. I remember it like it was yeasterday.
