February 18, 20179 yr McCain doesn't need an excuse to back stab a real Republican, but Trump probably treated McCain worse during the primaries than anybody else besides Ted Cruz. To me it's not just treated bad. Like his politics or not, Trump belittled an officer the armed services who served honorably and was a POW in Hanoi Hell. He maliciously degraded an American POW for that service by saying he preferred those who don't get captured. :irked:

Of course McCain is going to defend the media, along with his little sidekick, Lindsey Graham. It would be big news if McCain was defending his president. Looks to me like Sen. McCain has voted in lockstep for all of POTUS Trump's proposed Cabinet members but maybe one. That in and of itself will not absolve him of the RINO label many wish to give him, though.

McCain of being complicit in the assassination of JFK and he also did not make fun of the looks of McCain's wife. I have zero respect for McCain, but Trump's comments about McCain were inexcusable.

I feel the same way about McCain now as I felt about him 15 years ago. He was a RINO then, he is a RINO now, and he will die a RINO. Quoting McCain to support one's position on anything is risky business, because he has shown unlimited flexibility in the positions that he takes and takes back.

More that anything, I despise McCain for the way that he has run as a conservative throughout his career and undermined conservative positions in the Senate for decades.

The same would be true if I let liberal rants against a president who has been in office less than a month bother me. I expected the irrational reaction that the far left has had to Trump's election and I believe that I am mature enough to cope with it. :lol2:
