Sk has lost 5 games this year and never were the refs blamed. However, the E- town game is a different story!

Say all you want about sk girls" taking out opponents, and sk parents crying when they lose, but hear this. I guarantee ,if your school had a player Punched in the face, after the aggressor had been warned for violent play, and numerous horrible calls by officials , you too may be "crying".

As for your comment about ruining it for the kids....the only thing that could've ruined it for our kids is if the punch had concussed our player. Chew on that thought for a while!

I think I would like to see video before bashing this kid on here. It's already been noted here that she was involved in an altercation over the summer when it wasnt her. Are we even sure we have the right player? I saw pics of the game and the player that was accused of assault this summer was double teaming with Stinson in the photos.

 

Also SK is very well known for physical play and I get the feeling that there may have been some of that going on. Stinson is a tiny girl but feisty. Not making excuses but she's smaller than most of SK's players. However, if she did throw a punch, there should be no excuse and she should be punished.

Niece had 33 points 8 rebounds this game and Harney had 12 points 9 rebounds.

I saw two clips. #10 for white committed two flagrant fouls IMO. They were not normal moves associated with basketball. They were flagrant.

Based on my belief that the acts were flagrant, by rule , the girl should have been ejected.

 

The official saw the first "punch" because he , albeit delayed, called a foul on #10. Let's assume he decided to give her a break on the first one. Once the 2nd one occurred it IMO was a no-brainer. Ejected.

I saw two. One occurred in front of the Etown bench. The other occurred on the opposite end. Video was not shot from up close. I did see enough to see a flagrant action.

I've not seen the tape nor was I at the game. But according to one of my good friends that was there and knows the rules very well. He stated the same thing. Felt the first looked very intentional and could have easily warranted ejection. The 2nd def. warranted ejection.

 

There was also another incident where Neice was thrown hard on the ground that resulted in a Technical. Did you by chance see that on tape? Curious if that should have resulted being rejected as well?

You have to remember that high school has a much higher threshold for what's acceptable as far as behavior. It's not college and it's certainly not the NBA.

 

Sometimes officials try to give someone a break. Sometimes you just can't. IMO this was one of those times.

 

To be fair to the officials, there are 10 girls plus a ball on the floor. There are times when you miss things or only see the end of it. That may have happened here.

 

I'm not sure what the KHSAA does in cases like this where tape shows something that appears to have been missed. I'd be curious to hear what the E-Town coach/administration says after seeing the tape.

Your point is well taken with seeing parts of a play. I'm often critical of the 'phantom' fouls when a ref. see's a reaction but didn't see the actual play. Due to the reaction they call a foul when at times no contact has even occurred.

 

In the case of the SK vs E-town game, it is my understanding there were 3 officials. You have to hope they had the floor covered pretty well with three of them on the floor. They called a technical so I have to think they saw the swings, if they saw intentional swings then in my opinion the player should be ejected.

 

I also would be curious of E-town's response as this particular team has apparently had issues in the past. If they don't address the issue then its a black eye for their entire program and that has been so stellar the past years.

Lot of complaining about physical play. SK usually is the aggressor.

 

5th Region basketball is rough. Really, really rough. I'd be curious to know who worked that game.

 

Stinson was not the player involved in the scrimmage incident. I spoke to her and her parents over the summer and it was not her.

 

This thread is the first I've heard that it was someone else involved in the summer ball incident. I'm not saying you're lying, just that I'm curious as to why this is just coming out now that it was a different player, given all I've heard, from many different sources.
