The BP trade allows for Peraza to play every day, and if Cozart gets moved, Herrera will be able to get regular AB's, too.

Hey, I lived through the Indians of the 70's and a good portion of the 80's in real life, so this is nothing new. You just hope that anybody with hype doesn't turn into Jerry Dybzinski.

February 13, 20179 yr As optimistic as I am with the Bengals, is how many people seem to be with the Reds. I am in the opposite corner with the Reds and fear that it will be a very long time before the Reds truly compete again. Everyone sees the Royals and Cubs recently and seem to think its easy and a guarantee that rebuilding will mean future success. I fear that this rebuild will not be the rebuild that gets this team competiting again in a few years. I think it's going to take a lot longer than people expect. With that said I am looking forward to seeing the younger guys play this year, and hoping that they do truly develop to be as good as we hope.

February 13, 20179 yr 81 wins in 2017 would be a big success. 75 is a realistic goal. Sub-70 is likely a step backward. Weighted scheduling in a strong division with Cubs (9/5 to win NL #1), Cards (12/1 #6) and Pirates (25/1 T7) doesn't help. (FYI - Reds, Brewers & Padres at T13 at 100/1)

Had to learn how to do it at the MLB level. Trial and error. Now the biggest thing is when to take the risk and when to just wait for the hitters to do their thing and capitalize.
