February 15, 20179 yr I hope he has a decent year, I've always liked him...well at least since he got rid of the corn rows. I've always been amazed at how he got anyone out with that whiffle ball stuff. The guy flat out has pitching smarts. Very cerebral guy when it comes to pitching. Young pitchers can only benefit from having Bronson around.
February 15, 20179 yr Who becomes the leader on this team? Frazier, Bruce, Phillips are all gone. Meso cant get on the field. Who is left to be the leader. The obvious answer would be Votto but I don't think he wants to be one. My first reaction was Cozart, but he'll more than likely be dealt. I honestly don't think there is one unless player/"coach" Arroyo makes the Redlegs opening day roster.

February 16, 20179 yr Any chance of this: Suarez LF Peraza 3B Duvall RF Herrera 2B Any other OF options for RF besides Schebler? I believe the Reds brass views Peraza as an "up the middle" defender. He will be a middle infielder -- starting at 2B to begin the season and perhaps getting moved to SS if/when Cozart gets dealt. He may also play in CF occasionally. I get the vibe that the Reds believe Herrera is probably a year away from being ready for the big leagues. I think he'll start out in the minors and, depending on how he performs, may get called up to be a utility type player (similar to Peraza's role last year).

February 16, 20179 yr Author Any chance Winker swoops in and takes it during spring training? Highly doubtful for service time reasons alone. They will wait a few months if he's even ready.
