Congrats to Somerset on getting that win this past friday. Those kids have had their brains beat in this season. Glad to see them get to start this week on a positive note.

Yeah, I think Somerset and Mercer had a scrimmage in early august. The Titans only have 4 wins in school history. It's the same school name (Mercer) but, it's not the same school. So Mercer's tradition is just starting. If you think Mercer wont get better as the year goes on then keep dreaming. Let Somerset work on getting their second win before wanting to throw them in front of a truck. I guarantee that Boyle would hammer Somerset just like Danville did.

It was a great game, and yes, that could have been a horse collar tackle, but from my view from the endzone seats, it was a clear face mask. He took McShara down by the face mask. It was completely obvious from my vantage point and everyone over in my area, including Mercer fans knew what the call was.

 

Congratulations to Mercer, their defense should really be the story in this game. A defense that will and should only get better as the season goes on. Good luck this year and I feel good knowing that I can only root for success for Mercer now that this game is out of the way.

Well after having some time to think this weekend, Congrats go out to Mercer on a big win this past friday night. #2 Jackson is the real deal for sure. I look for Mercer to go far in the playoffs. One thing for sure, this is the year of the Titians. We will pick ourselfs back up and dust ourselfs off and prepare for the real season now. 1-4 or 4-1 it doesn't madder, a loss now is what will hurt the most for this season. What ever happens...happens in the future. I have plenty of good memories to last me the rest of my life. It's amazing what 5 straight State Championships will do. With 9 Sophomores and a Freshman getting a large amount of playing time, I don't think Boyle will be down for long.

Secondly, that Jackson kid is the real deal and the best of the Big Three (Jackson, Ford, Walker). They say that he was being chased by the Miller kid (A Div-I prospect) and saw him close, then just shifted into another gear and broke away. With that type of speed, its hard for any defense to contain him.

First off - I can't quite figure out whether your avatar scares me or makes me laugh! :scared: :lol: Second of all - I do know that kids will be kids but I can't figure out why anyone would have allowed that to go on without stopping it. There was some police walking around and they just seem to act like they didn't see it. But I have had the weekend to settle down and I will just have to leave my horrible experience on the field (so to speak). I had a chance to talk to someone who was on that playing field Friday night;) and he told me that that Jackson was so quick you couldn't even see him when he got hold of the ball.

 

I would like for everyone to know that I did not mean anything nor did I say anything negative against Mercer county's football team with my earlier comments about the sportsmanship. I think Mercer has a fine football team and they played a good game and deserved the win. I don't care what class they play in, I don't care what teams they play, I can tell you this much...they are the real deal:thumb: and should by all means be proud of their football team.

Why did Boyle wear their home uni? Was it a statement? Does anyone know or did you all even notice? I noticed and assumed there was an agreement worked out between school, but have read different.

 

I could see this as being more low class than middle/non-football playing high school kids bragging about a (finally) better than average football team.

I'd say becase they wanted to, It's not a big deal. With no home games yet this season they more than likely wanted to show off their new uni's.

Yeah my thoughts exactly on the confusion part. I think he is talking about Mercer finally having a competitive team. They had one last year. But, this isn't the scotties. This isn't the Mercer team of past. This is a whole new student body. They are not the scotties they are the TITANS!
