I think we should help all people like this. Just not the ones who are trying to sneak in to kill you. And me. Just vet them and if they are suspect, send them back. If not let them in.

 

However, when they are here, they do not need to cause some of the issues that they instigated in Europe. We are not a nation that is built on Sharia Law.

Its very hard to take two different cultures that are complete opposites and think they are going to live harmonious together. Its a great dream, but in my opinion, not a reality.

I have no issues coming to America to stand on what we as a whole stand for. Thats not the case with some. And thats not my opinion, those are facts. I think everyone should want what we have here, but some cultures hate the very existence of what we stand for. Those are why we are divided over this ban. I am not sure some understand the severity of consequences if only a few get in. It could be me or you TB&G. My kids or yours. My friends or your friends. Nobody is saying dont help people, what they are saying is we dont want our citizens or the people who are here hurt or killed by people bent on doing just that.

I don't believe that any of us want those we love, or any citizen, hurt or killed. We want thorough vetting. We want continued monitoring when they are here. But a ban says no one, not even families that have been waiting in refugee camps for years, can get in. I refuse to lump those fleeing from terrorism in with the terrorists.

 

We we are the greatest country in the world. The Statue of Liberty still means something. If we turn our backs on the suffering of others, we will cease to be great.

Even I would be against a ban.... But get a grip folks... It's a temporary ban. Just to get a handle on thing some that have gotten out of control.

Okay, now since we've gotten the train out of the gravel and back on the tracks, I want to say thanks to Jesse James, TheDeuce, True blue (and gold) and, of course, Voice of Reason for this (somewhat) BGP summit. Good to see you guys working it out. Nice work VOR and TB&G. FWIW, I'm not making light of it, I'm serious.
