From reading this article you would think that there would be a large segment of the British popolation that would agree with Trump latest EO regarding immigration from certain countries.

So as I understand it Trump voiced his displeasure of the deal (in his typical brash way) but said he would still honor it because we had agreed to do it. Is that correct? If so, I have no problem. He is right, it is RIDICULOUSLY HORRIBLE deal. But he should honor it because the Aussies are a great ally and it is the right thing to do.

 

Also the leaker of the story needs to be fired. I am sure there are tense conversations with every president with foreign leaders. They typically are not leaked out by State Dept employees (most likely the leaker came from that dept.). Trump needs to clean house in that (and many other) departments...

Just finished up Skyping with my friend from England where just as a little test without giving him any previous knowledge of this thread I asked him what he thought the general impression the Brits had of Donald Trump, and he said "First off I am so sick of hearing his name", and I asked if he had ever heard a Brit speak favorably of him, and he said not once and that with all of the ongoing protests in numerous British cities he's never seen anything like it before. He reminded me that the word Trump in England is a reference to a "fart" as "to fart" is "to trump".

 

So yeah...the Brits aren't too keen on Trump and have verbally come out in masses like never before to say so, but no I don't have a clue of the pulse of the world.

 

I will ask my friends what they think of Lousiville basketball this weekend. What they say must be so.

Could always be an Aussie that gave the Washington Post the info. When they use vague descriptions like "US Official", hard to tell where anything comes from.

Frankly Australia, I don't give a damn what you think of us. Don't they have some Aborigines to exterminate somewhere.

The same is true of Israel and Israel was publicly disrespected by this nation's POTUS for eight years. Curiously, I do not recall liberals voicing any outrage over the shoddy treatment given to Netanyahu's government and no leak was necessary to recognize Obama's hatred for that ally.

It's just an example man, and considering that he lives in England I think that he'd have a better idea of the pulse than I would, and he was not only expressing what he thought, but what he has observed living there, protesting that he has witnessed, news reports covering his country, and the general things that friends and neighbors say, and not once has he heard anyone speak favorably of Trump, but he has most certainly heard references to him being nuts, and considering that he said that the outcry is way more than he's ever seen in his nearly 73 years living there, sounds to me that what he has said should stand as some evidence of how the Brits generally feel.

 

So downplay what I say all you'd like, and aside from other references that I've provided, all indicators strongly support that the world has surely been exposed to the story of Donald Trump and have expressed strong disapproval of him.

 

So..I don't know..are you suggesting that your denial of it offers more proof of anything that I've offered? I realize that it's a big world, but kinda bizarre that I'd be the only one here whose ever heard what I'm trying to say, which I mostly certainly know that I am not, so again another example of playing a game to take the light off of reality and the truth of it all.

Again late to the party...already discussed all that with decent levels of credible info.. but honestly what rock have you all been living under that I even have to squeeze all this information out for you to still not believe it? Very good sign of cult behavior when the evidence of world disapproval has been quite vivid all along.

There is a much, much weaker case that Trump disrespected Australia than the case that Obama disrespected Israel, so the outrage at Trump seems to be primarily motivated by politics. If one believes the leaked information, then one should have been equally outraged in both cases.

 

I believe that Trump's outrage, assuming that the leaked info is correct, is misdirected. Obama is the one that made the deal and he made it with the full knowledge that Trump would be the one who would have to deal with its consequences. Eight years of working to destroy this country just was not enough time for Obama. He had to take a few parting shots at his successor.

So you're denying that there's a huge bit of Trump disapproval throughout the world...seriously...and to think that I always thought that you were fair and well informed.

 

My Brit friend was only one example as I have other international friends, but his information alone certainly stands for just not him, but his country and much that he has observed.
