January 21, 20179 yr Author Doesn't bother me at all. I am registered as a Democrat, but am probably more Republican based on what I believe. I consider myself to be right in the middle, if not not to the right a bit. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but you voted for Obamacare right? If so you probably get assumed to be a democrat when in reality you just thought Obama was the candidate that would do the best. It's frustrates me in similar situations.
January 21, 20179 yr I know it was over 200 years ago but George Washington did warn against political parties. It paints people into a corner that maybe they don't belong in.He warned against political parties, but freedom of association is a constitutional right. I would not want to live in a country where political parties were outlawed. I do not view political parties favorably, but they are better than the alternative. George Washington was easily our best president, IMO, but he did not have much experience with politics or political parties when he served as our first president.
January 21, 20179 yr Doesn't bother me. When I talk politics I am labeled a democrat, liberal or lefty and I can't change that. Doesn't bother me. It's more true than false.

Liberal/ Conservative is ok because I think it ties into your beliefs. Republican or Democrat attaches you to a group of people who you may disagree with and that frustrates me. I'm a "republican", but I would never have voted for Trump in a million years. But since I'm a "republican" I'm attached to him. That bothers me.

I'm a registered democrat and I didn't vote for and never would vote for Hillary. I think if I hadn't disowned Hillary long ago then I think people would attach me to her. Ironically enough I agree with a lot of her ideas, policies and philosophies but I do not like a lot of things she has done dating back to the 90s. I'll also say the emails didn't bother me at all.

I didn't have a vote for Obamacare... I like the idea of the ACA and think there is some good in it, but also think it needs to be tweaked. I voted for Obama, twice, because he represented me and my life experiences better than any other candidate. I was fine with whatever label that created.

January 21, 20179 yr I wouldn't mind if I were registered with either. I am a registered Independent. I forego the ability to vote in the primaries to ensure I do not have any formal ties to any party. But none of you all registered whatever are helping me out by getting me unacceptable choices. :lol2:
January 21, 20179 yr Also, I am proudly more liberal than conservative. I am not as liberal as some think though.
January 22, 20179 yr Also, I am proudly more liberal than conservative. I am not as liberal as some think though. I, too, am more proud of the liberal label than I am the Democrat. I'm pretty mad at a lot of so-called Democrats right now. Too many of them stayed home.
January 22, 20179 yr I'm socially liberal. Fiscally conservative I'm socially very liberal, somewhat less so fiscally.
January 22, 20179 yr I'm socially very liberal, somewhat less so fiscally. I have 2 gay uncles and my sister n law is also gay. I tell them that I support their rights to be just as miserable in marriage as straight folks . While I don't agree with abortion, I believe it's none of my business what others do with their bodies. I'm not their creator and it's not my place to judge. As far as fiscally goes, if you're able bodies, you should work. Unemployment and welfare should only be short term solutions. Disability is abused. I don't think bipolar and sciatica shouldn't get you disability either. Edited January 22, 20179 yr by 00Rocket28

January 22, 20179 yr Absolutely, I love being called a traditionalist who believes in the republic and respects the men and women who carried the flag to build it. The American dream is available to anyone who works for it. You gotta be the hero in your own story and not the victim.
