Revenge for Saint X. 21-17

It's that R word again; X posters please do not indulge in such nonsense. Last year; last game is over. Let's please look forward to this game and work towards the ultimate goal.

I'll go with the team that has radio coverage. :D X by a TD 31-24.

I don't know what you are talking about - Trinity is on the radio every week 900 AM WFIA - with the exception of the Southern game - Southern didn't have the phone lines. FYI - Trinity Football is also available world wide on the THS website.

Rocks win again 35 -13

Rocks win again 35 -13

Bold prediction considering that Trinity has never scored more than 28 on St. X. Largest margin of victory for Trinity in the series is 21. Do you really think this Trinity team is capable of beating X by a larger margin than they have in the history of the series, or putting up more points than they ever have in the series?

Rocks are not in a must win situation, they did not already have rings and shirts and sweats made up before final game last year. Rocks are not tourney ready and have not peaked, but X appears to be hitting on all cylinders. No shock if x wins but see you in december, and don't ever think any game is a sure bet when you play the rocks. 21-17:dancingpa

No shock if x wins but see you in december:

 December, really?

How right you are, 0116cwb! The way the KHSAA has the playoffs set for this year, it's only possible for one of us to advance beyond the 3rd round of the playoffs, which would be in mid-November.

As a matter of fact neither team will be playing in December this year. The final is on Thursday November 30 due to a conflict with UofL at PJCS. I guess see you in December is just a figure of speech, old habits are hard to break.

Back to the September edition... This morning's Lit ratings has X as the favorite by more than 10 points.

WOW . Looking at the time some people post here. A lot of early risers, or late nighters ! TTT

Litratings favoring X by 10. Hummmmm

The Litratings have it about right. X should be a strong favorite in this game. They would seem to have the edge based on the season to date and they would seem to have the emotional edge based on what happened last December. In spite of this, there is something about this Trinity team that I like. They have improved every week. They are nowhere near their peak yet, but they are much better than last years team was at this point in the season. The question is, have they improved enough to handle X? We'll see. The emotional factors may not be as strong in favor of X as it would seem at first. As much as many of the X faithful have had a problem forgeting last December's loss, the Trinity people have had a tough time getting over the whole "we had the better team" thing from many on the X side. In truth, these aren't the same teams. Each new year requires that the team build its own road. I think I'll like this team better in November than I do today, but I have a feeling that Trinity will pull this one out. Make it Trinity 17, X 14.

They say that there are other factors that come into play in this rivalry game. I agree let's compare:

Coaching: A wash..you can't argue against either coach's success

O-Line: I give X the advantage here, they seem to be in better form to date.

Receivers: T

QB: T

RB's: X...while Tim Phillips is having a monsterous season, Vic and Deuce combined are nasty

D-Line: T

LB's: T

Secondary: I say a wash, but mainly because I haven't seen X's yet, I think that both teams' are suspect in this department right now.

With all of that said, it is hard to predict maybe something like 13-10 St. Xavier, BUT that leads us to the kicking game. Normally this is a draw as both schools excel in this department, year in and year out. With that said, at this point, to date, Trinity's kicking game is much, much better.

Prediction:

Trinity - 16

St. Xavier - 13
