Most are picking Bell big.

This is the smallest team Bell has had in a while, but still very talented.

Corbin is about average size but lacks the skill players they normally have with the exception of Cashen, they have the talent....just not the experience. If cashen gets a little time and receivers catch the ball we could be in for a good game. The OL HAS TO BLOCK IN THIS GAME!!

Cobin's offense continues its woes, Bell Co. in, not really a blow out but they won't be threatened 28-7.

Comparison:

Bell County:

Whitley County Bell County 24 - 20 (W)

Henry Clay Bell County 14 - 28 (L)

Letcher County Central Bell County 57 - 7 (W)

The Bobcats have scored 95, while giving up 55, with over half their total points scored being against Letcher County Central

Corbin:

Rockcastle County Danville 0 - 2 (L)

Oldham County Corbin 20 - 34 (L)

South Laurel Corbin 20 - 21 (L)

Lexington Christian Corbin 20 - 7 (W)

The Hounds have scored 60 Points thie year, while giving up 63

Bell=34

Corbin=7

Bell should walk to easy victory here but sometimes crap happen I'll guess we'll see

Trimmer

Props to Corbin for playing a nice non-district schedule.

I know Im looking ahead, but these teams are going to be better and better the next couple years it sounds like. Both teams are very young! Bell has something like 8 sophomores who are either starting or playing a lot of varsity.

A lot of people are dissapointed with Corbin right now, but they are still Corbin and will be good this year by the time its all said and done.

Corbin is pretty young. They start 5 sophomores on offense and 2 more on defense, which may explain why the defense has been ahead of the offense so far this year.

Hopefully this series will continue(I think that it will despite a little bad blood right now). Bell Co. along with Danville, Belfry and South Laurel would make up a good non-district schedule. Any idea who else will be on the schedule(Whitley, Wayne Co., Rockcastle)?

Could be the last time we face bell because of scheduling conflits in the future with the 6A system

I would think with smaller districts that there will be more opportunities for close geographic rivals like this to play. If they dont' play it will be for some other reason than scheduling conflicts.

Maybe.............................. personality conflicts between coaching staffs.

That may explain Bell's ommission from the Pigskin Classic as well.

What are you talking about? Bell was ommitted from what Pigskin Classic?

Bell Co. approached Corbin about participating in the Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic and even offered to sign a 4 year deal. That is apparently not going to happen as Corbin is slated to play Danville and Middlesboro will face Knox Central.

I personally do not care how much bad blood there is if that is the case. If there are scheduling conflicts, they should work around it. These two teams should play every year no matter the situation. Corbin and Bell is like FSU/Florida. They should play every year PERIOD. Nothing can be said to convince me otherwise. Look for an uproar over this one like the one when M'Boro and Bell stopped playing.

Bell Co. 21-7.

It appeared that Middlesboro BOE took action to fix that problem, but recent comments by Bell Co. coach on radio, leads us to believe that Middlesboro vs. Bell will not be on in 2007. For years Bell took a pounding from Middlesboro (who I believe still owns the series) before the stronger Bell years. Ironically, the best Middlesboro team in years leaves the field after a two year run this year...without playing Bell. Corbin vs. Bell is always a great game and a great tradition. It would be a shame to see it end. Especially for all the wrong reasons.
