January 3, 20179 yr I have no problem with 8 teams, but I'll never agree to automatic bids for Conference Champs... 10-4 VaTech was 2 plays from beating Clemson in the Conference Title Game We've seen PAC champs with 3 or 4 losses also in the past. Keep Committee and give me the top 8, if two teams are close and one won the Conf then they get the edge...other wise give me the top 8. Which mean this year, half of the 8 would have been from the B1G...which would be fine if they are in the top 8. Maybe not allow a team with 3 losses in unless there were no other teams left with less losses.

I was right there with you until tonight and seeing what comes from the Rose Bowl being the Big 10 Champ and the PAC 12 Champ. That's special and I don't want to lose that from college football.

January 3, 20179 yr I would love to see a playoff that matched up the Big 10 Champ and the PAC 12 Champ as it should be on the highest stage I was never a big proponent of the champs automatically getting in an 8 team playoff because you could get a 3 or 4 loss champ in a fluky way that they didn't deserve. But in this case I love it. 8 team playoff: Rose Bowl: PAC 12 Champ Big 10 Champ Sugar Bowl: SEC Champ Big 12 Champ Orange Bowl: ACC Champ vs. at large Fiesta Bowl: at-large vs. at large Seed them after these games. College football deserves this. Nah, I don't like that...ACC gets and At-Large every year? Then the two worst teams the At-Large get to play each other? While Ohio St and USC and knocking heads every year you have Clemson playing an at large team every year?

Didn't it used to be ACC and Big 12...Nebraska was always in the Orange back in the day. I don't like predetermined matchups, not fair playoff if #1 and #2 teams have to meet first. I like the old bowl tie in too, but it just doesn't work with REAL playoffs.

In the Old Days it was the Big 8 Champ vs an at large.
