Say what you want about Marvin, but in watching today's game it looked to me like Marvin's team played hard for him and Harbaugh's team played it out.

Steve Smith honoring folks is a cool thing...he has had an amazing career! Good to see him focusing on the importance of family and being there for his kids!!!

Congrats on the W Bengals...don't screw up your draft picks! :bunny:

Well 2017 certainly started better than 2016 did for me. Don't screw up the draft this year, resign the right guys, and this season will be a blip on the radar. Who Dey!

The win probably took the Bengals out of the top 10 in the draft.

Dropped them from 8 to 9 so far I think I read.

Players have always played hard for him. He is a players Coach, players love him. However players loving him dont help win big football games, and that is what hurts them.

Don't take my statement as me wanting Marvin here. It was just an observation.

I think Core showed enough today that the Bengals would not need to spend a high draft pick on a WR. Green, Boyd, sign Lafell, Core and Wright would be a solid WR receiving crew.

I still think that if they have a WR they like fall to them in the 2nd round they'll take him. I think last year they HAD to take a WR and settled on Boyd because he was the best one left after the WR spree that took place in front of them. I'm not sold Boyd will ever be able to match what Jones did the last 2 years and if we're honest that's what we're looking for. I know Lafell filled that void this year, but I don't see him as the long term solution there.

Agreed completely.

On Burkhead: I didn't know I could stay THAT happy for 3 hours.

Boyd in his first year is not that far behind what Jones did. Boyd had 54 catches for over 600 yards. That is only 100 yards behind Jones in one season and 200 behind his best season. What he does lack is TD catches when compared to Jones but he was a rookie and not the main target in the red zone when Green and Eifert are available. I think next year is a big year for finding out if he takes the step up to a solid #2 receiver.

Agreed completely.

Gio's injury might mean the Bengals HAVE to sign Rex. You can't go into a season with a recovering Gio and Hill having an such a bad year and also coming off an injury. Peerman is a special teams guy and can't carry it 20 times a game.

Same. I really hope they make the right decision and resign Burkhead and give him at least the opportunity to continue to prove himself next year. Jeremy Hill hasn't gotten it done in 2 years as the full time starter. Bernard is what he is, but he isn't Mr. dependable either. Burkhead deserves a chance to start for this team next year. But if he doesn't, he will make a fantastic Patriot. He fits the mold of that team to perfection. Tough hard nosed guy who bought his time and kept working hard and was overlooked by players with greater physical gifts, but in the end Burkhead is a football player through and through and you need those guys on your team.

Jones gave the Bengals a 3rd reliable red zone target. Hard to cover 3 of those guys. Boyd was invisible all year when they reached the red zone.
