Voting?

There is a real good reason for the Electoral College. Too bad that some folks...especially in this kind of charged atmosphere...don't take the time to study that part of history and our constitution.

Great idea--All the Libs that have seemingly just discovered that there's an electoral college, can just stay home in the next several elections since it's apparently a waste of their time??

Is it really voting, if the person receiving the most votes does not win?:poop:

In the U.S. the person receiving the most votes in each state is typically awarded that states electoral votes. The nationwide total has nothing to with who becomes president.

Not so hard to understand, yet....

Where was the outrage for that little election?

Come on....Obama got the more votes than any other candidate. No reason for the popular vote argument to pop up. Anytime the President wins while getting less popular votes, the Electoral College issue is going to appear.

Uhh, this was the primary between Obama and Clinton and she got more of the popular vote but he got more delegates. Fair by lib standards? Just pointing out the hypocrisy. I'm sorry, you were saying?

My bad...misunderstood....thought (more accurately assumed) you were comparing election totals from different years...obviously I didn't look at the chart closely..bad response on my part...I'll own it. However, the chart you posted doesn't tell the whole story. 4 states (Iowa, Washington, Maine, and Nevada) didn't realease popular vote totals and aren't included in the charts, so we don't know the actual final totals, although the final result would still be extremely close. Obviously, the superdelegates aided Obama and put him over the top. In the end though, HRC conceded and immediately endorsed Obama, which is what prevented controversery. Which is what should have been done in this election rather than chasing recounts that would have no effect on the final outcome.

I agree. The after the election conduct just made it worse. My point is that some people want a popular vote when their nomination process doesn't even follow that format. The superdelagates wreak of corruption.

There was outrage, but moot point because it is a political party representative rather than the general election. Political parties could draw straws for their rep if they wanted.
