With Pops Draud at Grant, rumor has it that Jr Draud could be going to Grant next year. They've got a talented group of freshmen. Any truth to this??

Not a chance..

Anybody know who Mount Saint Joe's was there to see?

After the game they were talking to Owen Alcorn from Beechwood.

#30 - 6'7" and can jump

If Draud wants his kid to get D-1 looks if he ever gets to that level then he will be a Blue Colonel. They play in elite Tourneys across the state and now country (see next week's NJ tourney) and they have a guy on staff in Fredrick who has connections. Just my opinion.

Beechwood has as much basketball talent in their pipeline as any other school not named CovCath.. If he doesn't make the drive down Dixie Hwy to Park Hills than there is really no reason to go anywhere else in NKy.

I doubt the Beechwood pipeline compares to Greater Cincinnati but I see your point. Goetz has got to be excited.

Deontae Allen disagrees. These days, if you can play at a D1 level, they will find you. Especially with AAU ball getting kids more and more exposure.

Strictly rumor but the other kids seem to think he is going to be a "Blue Colonel"

Went to BSS until 7th grade, he does live in Beechwood District.

Is BSS stand for blessed Sacrament? Why would you go to school till seventh-grade, then transferred to Beechwood for one year, and then transfer somewhere else?

Unless Beechwood gave him a chance to play varsity ball. Myunderstanding, which is about 10 years outdated, is that It is a little more difficult for an eighth grader in the archdiocese of Covington to play for a Catholic high school because the feeder programs are not necessarily as black-and-white as public schools.

If you are a good enough basketball player you won't have to find scouts. They will find you.

Just as in baseball most kids get recruited on the summer circuit not the high school. They want to see how kids compete against elite level talent day in and day out.

Went to Beechwood in 7th grade too. Why pay tuition at a Catholic School(my opinion) and I'm Catholic, when you moved to a school district like Beechwood. The prices on the home in Fort Mitchell are not the way they are because of BSS.

Carson Williams played for Owen County didn't he? I agree with the other posters above that the high school team you play for does not get you a D1 scholarship. If you are a D1 player playing in the spring/summer circuit you will be found.

On the high school side, I am sure Coach Goetz will beef up the schedule and play wherever/whoever his talent leads him.

Hmmmmm ... yeah, no doubt about that. The dude has a lot of connections.
