Trinity 73 Berkmar (GA) 69

Impressive run by Trinity. I'm happy a KY team won the KOB.

I haven't been following too closely: does Berkmar have any D1 talent?

Backcourt are both D1 kids, one going to IU.

You a Trinity guy now? :D

Other than my alma mater, I've been a "Trinity Guy" since I joined the board. :lol2:

Impressive run for T this week with wins over Covcath, Bowling Green, and now Berkmar.

That didn't actually happen. Trinity is now #1 but not because they beat BG,

Both Johnson and the freshman they have (Justin Powell) are going to be special.

Good shout out for Powell, he is an INCREDIBLY impressive freshman. Great size, shooting touch, and works hard on the defensive end. He is every bit of 6'4". He isn't Johnson, but he is darn good. Trinity is going to be a real handful for the next few years.

How often does the KOB go on to win the sweet 16?

Substitute Fern Creek for BG.

Justin Powell stood out to me as well. There were a couple of plays he made where he put his hops on display and man, that kid can get up. He will be a handful another year.

You're right...meant Fern Creek.

A very good run, it all started with a last second win against Cooper; if this doesn't happen, they don't play CCH, Fern Creek, or Berkmar in the winners bracket.

Besides replacing BG with Fern Creek, if not for a last second win against Cooper, none of these matchups occur in the winners bracket.

Good teams find a way to win when they play badly. Congrats to Cooper, they are very well coached and played an outstanding game against Trinity but if Trinity takes control of the game against Cooper the way they did against CovCath that game's not close. Cooper was able to control the tempo, I don't think they do that if they play again.

BERKMAR 19 11 17 22 - 69

TRINITY 19 25 11 18 - 73

BERKMAR (9-4) – Al Durham 30p, 5r; Zach Cooks 19p, 6s; Jay Estime 11p; Ian Hardy 7p, 3a; Ben Soumahoro 2p.

TRINITY (8-1) – David Burton 10p, 9r; David Johnson 12p, 8r, 7a; L.J. Harris 6p; Justin Powell 10p, 4a; Jayden Scrubb 16p, 5r, 3b; Stan Turnier 3p; Lukas Burkman 16p.

All-tournament team – David Johnson, Lukas Burkman (Trinity); Al Durham, Zach Cooks (Berkmar); Cole VonHandorf, C.J. Fredrick (Covington Catholic); Terry Taylor, Zion Harmon (Bowling Green); Trey Doomes (Allatoona); Jamil Wilson (Ballard); Anthony Wales (Fern Creek); Sean McNeil (Cooper); Jaylen Sebree (Christian County); Jaylon Hall (Doss); Taveion Hollingsworth (Paul Dunbar); Tavin Lovan (Franklin-Simpson).

Bob White MVP Award – David Johnson (Trinity).

Ralph Beard Spirit Award – Deangelo Wilson (Bowling Green).

Trinity has now beaten the (arguably) top teams in the 5th Region (Bardstown), 12th (Pulaski Co.), 6th (Fern Creek-but have also lost to them), and the top two in the 9th (Covington Catholic and Cooper). It seems that T historically comes out strong. Hopefully, they can improve as the season moves along.
