Anytime anyone is working out is cause for celebration but I think Crossfit is way too expensive and more social than I think working out should be, but that is just me.

Crossfit is .... more social than I think working out should be

Maybe that is why I am enjoying it. :jump:

I've done it for almost 5 years now. Like everything it has it's pro's and con's. If your smart about how do things, don't try to over do it, scale weights and movements to stay within your capabilities it is awesome. Let your ego get the better of you and you will get hurt. Find a good gym with great coaching and it will change your life.

Crossfit has gotten a bad rap, some deserved some not.

@Oldbird, if there are any specifics you'd like me to speak too let me know. I've learned a ton about strength training, olympic lifts, over all fitness training in my time doing crossfit but will say I've had some fantastic trainers/coaches.

You definitely strike me as the Social Butterfly at the gym so you Go Boy!

Nothing specific. I am only a few months in and just really enjoying it. With that said it is pretty tough and I am almost always the oldest in every work out I do by about 15 years, so I could quit at any moment. :D

I'm not sure I understand your point here.

Personal Preference, working out is about the Man in the Mirror to me and I ain't got time to socialize while I'm working.

We socialize before and after but once the work starts there isn't much chatter, other than encouragement.

I've thought about doing Crossfit, but it just doesn't seem all that appealing to me. I can do the same workouts with a partner for a fraction of the cost and not have to worry about over-doing it and getting hurt.

There's no more risk of getting hurt whether you do the work outs on your own or at a gym. You always choose the weight you use and pace you go.

Amen Guru. When I am at the gym I am not real interested in being social...

Crossfit to me is lifting with my spoon for a while then switching to my fork and then back to the spoon. Repeat until all food is gone.
