Before tonight's varsity contest, retired NewCath assistant coach of 30 years, Denny Schierer, was presented a commemorative basketball for his longtime dedication to the NewCath program. All 4 of the Head Coach he assisted, Ron Dawn, Rob Detzel, Mark Krebs, & Grant Brannen, all meet him at half court to present him with said ball.

I was very impressed with this bunch of Wildcats, they are fast and create havoc. They are definitely a team you don't want to take lightly.

A near capacity crowd was on hand for a dandy of a game. The Cats gave the Breds all they could handle and were in it til the very end.

Nice meeting @World B Free, and had the pleasure of sitting with @Baseball Nut 24 and @B-Ball-fan.

Thanks to Newport stats man, Jimmy Atkins for all the numbers. :ylsuper:

Brennan Hall was the difference in this game IMO, his ability to penetrate in traffic was something to see.

BTW, for those wondering, Wiggins for Newport DNP.

Thanks for the water and chips LB.

Hall is tough! Stays cool, calm, and collect in big moments. Put the team on his back in the second half. Moeves hit some big shots in first half, was in some foul trouble in the second.

Newport is young, somewhat inexperienced on the varsity level, but they'll scrap. Miller and Harding going to be tough to handle as they progress. Sophomore, McGuire, didn't play after 1st quarter.

Good luck to both moving forward.

Sounds like a good one. There were a lot of missed shots in that game.

Love to see Denny getting recognized. Great dude!

Congratulations to Denny Schierer, a mainstay in the NCC basketball program and formerly an assistant director of the Campbell County Parochial Basketball League, for his years of service to the youth of our combined school communities.

Well deserved!

BTW, for those wondering, Wiggins for Newport DNP.

I do know for a fact that a Wiggins does roam the halls at Newport Schools.

It's almost as if he's a ghost

Is Henschen playing? I haven't seen him on the stat sheet yet.
