Fern Creek 65 Trinity 61

great back and forth game. Fern Creek solidifies they are a contender.

Impressive. Didn't think they could do it.

Fern Creek athletics riding a high the last month. Football wins over Highlands and CovCath and a hoops win over Trinity.

Congrats to them on a great win.

I bet Trinity shot no less then 20 3's for the game!!

And most of the 3's shot by Trinity were contested 3's. Fern Creek is better offensively than they showed tonight, but they were pretty good on defense. This same Trinity team put 100+ on Pulaski. If the Fern Creek team can get dialed in on defense and rebound the basketball, they can be a very good basketball team. Most games they are going to get double digits points from 4 different players. Tonight Moore led with 18, Rogers 17, Price 13 and Wales 9 who was not hitting shots in the 1st half but kept going to the line in the 2nd half hitting free throws. Price sat much of the 2nd half in foul trouble but was very solid. Rogers is playing good and Moore is making a statement for POY in the 6th region early in the season.

Trinity was missing King and when he returns I expect the Rocks to be a tougher team because he brings so much beyond scoring. David Johnson and Jay Scrubbs are exceptional and are as good as advertised.

Football just beat CovCath. Does took out Highlands. But they are having success. Basketball team looks very strong.

Good call, my fault, right church but wrong pew.

At this point, Fern Creek is the heavy favorite in the 6th.

Schooler has gone from a good developer of talent and turned into a good game coach. There were times in the past that I wasn't sure he was more than a "ra ra" guy on the bench but he has really improved as an in-game coach.

Completely agree. Coach has stepped it up quite a bit. They're in front by a mile now. His new challenge, handle the pressure of being the clear cut top team.

Who are the principal and athletic director at Fern Creek?

A+ & A+ grades for them both. This is a community school that had past athletic success and community involvement that lost it's way for a while. It went through it's share of bad news academically, socially, and athletically. FC had to do something to change a culture that had developed and has used athletics to help do that. Dr. Meyers is a very involved Principal at every sporting event, even the away games for the most part as well as the AD, Troy Johnson.

They hired Schooler giving him his first Head Coaching position when several other schools struggling currently passed on him. Not sure how the football Coach came to be, but he is also showing to be a great hire. They both care about the kids and I am glad it is paying off as the school has really turned the corner academically also. Don't forget about the wrestling and soccer either, very good programs.

I think Schooler has done a great job and hope he gets to Rupp to make a run at state, but let’s not act like his studs are Fern Creek kids, they were a package deal with whoever hired him. Getting Chance this year as a transfer helped a lot. I know he moved to live with another parent and is now in FC area. When you have some of the best players in the 2017 and 2018 class it helps with winning.

Schooler has done a great job in getting them to play together and this win I feel is a huge statement for him and his program. They have what I feel is the two best wins in the young season wins over Doss and Trinity. FC is the new number 1 team in the state.

There's a good chance these two will meet up in the second round of the King of the Bluegrass. Fern Creek opens with Christian County while Trinity plays Cooper. If they both win (or if they both lose, I guess), they'll play again.
