December 4, 20169 yr Yea I know. Just poking fun at the thread back a while ago saying they wouldn't lose the rest of the season. Yeah I definitely was way wrong on that.
December 4, 20169 yr The combined record for the teams the Bengals have beat this year is 15-32 Bengals have only 1 win this year against a team above .500 Bengals are not good. The Bengals always use to make the playoffs at least when we disagreed and argued. So.....I disagree the Bengals are a good team, and just had some bad luck. But now they will go on a magical run and get lots of help and will make the playoffs and shock us all.
December 5, 20169 yr It was great to have @mcpapa, his lovely wife and daughter and his daughter's boyfriend join us for pre game festivities!!
December 5, 20169 yr Yeah I definitely was way wrong on that. I was with you so I'll eat my crow as well.
December 5, 20169 yr By the way for the people who always suggest people who go to games are idiots because we are only filling Mike Browns pockets, and you think the smart thing to do is not. The players out on the field today was basically begging the crowd to get into the game. The defense kept trying to wave their hands to get people up and loud, when the stadium truly was very empty today rarely got loud even though they played great. I hope you all realize your alls great idea of telling people not to go, doesn't help in getting players to want to come here or want to stay here. Players in the nfl talk, and I bet the free agents who did leave, are able to tell the current players how much of a better environment it is at games with their current teams. It doesn't seem like a smart idea to me to make this an unexciting place for players to be at.
December 5, 20169 yr Oh well. If the players ran a business that constantly let you down and feeling emotionally drained but over charged you supremely, you wouldn't continue to shop there would you? Sorry they want us there, but they make way more than most of us to just buy a mediocre product

Guessing they also tell them about the poor game prep, constant game mis-management, ultra-cheap owner, etc.??
December 5, 20169 yr Guessing they also tell them about the poor game prep, constant game mis-management, ultra-cheap owner, etc.?? Question you say ultra cheap owner? Money Wise where do you think he has gone cheap in? Now if you want to say he should have fired him, i agree on that. Also as far as Marvin he is a players Coach, so honestly when players talk the Bengals players probably think very highly of him and say that to other players. Our perception of Marvin is probably very different than the players. However the players perception of fan support around this area, can't be good. That even counts the last few years when we actually did well.

That even counts the last few years when we actually did well. Mike's cheap in the front office with far less resources than most franchises--No GM, smaller scouting group--Relies too much on the coaches to scout, etc. While they have drafted better under Marvin, I think that's a result of Katie & Co. convincing Mikey to allow more input from the "football people", and not rely on his "instincts". I'm sure Marvin is popular with the players, just as many teachers who don't hold their students accountable are popular with their students? Most would love a boss who let us get away with most anything? Off topic, but I'm one who feels Marvin has maxed out his talent as a head coach here. He's done a good job turning us from Cleveland into a decent team; but that's as far as he can take us, as evidenced by his playoff win drought.
December 5, 20169 yr Also regarding "cheap", the Bengals have frequently had tons of $$'s left under the cap, which shows up mostly in losing your good players; and lack of quality depth, which shows it's head when the inevitable injuries happen as they do to every team.
December 5, 20169 yr Enjoyed the pre-game festivities at Bengal Maniac's man-cave; it was a treat to meet his family. Many thanks again for the hospitality! Dalton was solid, defense was solid, excellent showing without 2 huge offensive weapons. Too bad the place was only 2/4 full, but I kinda expected that based on the poor play of late and the possibility of weather.
December 5, 20169 yr Took care of business today. Nugent with another missed XP. Didn't matter today, but how long are the Bengals going to let this continue? I was working in the South endzone and man do Bengals fans hate Nugent. Even when he makes them lol.

Lots of Green and White in the stands too. I suspect there will be double the Yellow and Black.

December 5, 20169 yr Yes embarrassing with the Yellow and Black, just ticks me off to no end. Exactly! But yet we get told were dumb for going to games, and that is how Mike Brown will change. Even though Mike Brown lost 20 thousand ticket holders and his franchise qb choose to retire instead of play, and that still didn't make Mike Brown change. We as fans won't get him to change. What we fans will do by not going to games is make even current players not want to be here. I have no problem if people choose not to spend their money to go. Especially with them not having a good season. However it just drove me nuts even during the last few years when the Bengals had good years, and people still said fans were dumb to go. Just makes no sense, and just makes Cincy a place where even our drafted players may not want to be at.
