I feel sure that the coaches did not call for the fire trucks for this one.(or the Ashland win either) Probably was some proud parents that just wanted to show appreciation to the kids. I personally would not have done this either but if the kids enjoyed it, so be it. Not that big of a deal, was within city limits as I understand it and not showing another community up. I have made jokes about the fire trucks on here as well as anyone has and it is all in good fun.

Lastly, Raceland had a good game plan for the Tomcats this year and made it work. No sour grapes here. Sure we wish we could have that one back but we got beat, it happens. Just to add to what TBF said about coach Parker....As the Rams were celebrating at mid-field after this years win at Ashland he said something that was impressive..."act like you've been here before.....shake'em up".... I like that type of thinking!!!

:thumb: Like I said in a previous post here onetoya, I feel certain that ther fire trucks were not the coaches idea in either instance. I also like the "act like you've done it before" mentality.By the way, Congrats to the Tomcats on your win last night and the big win over Russell last week.

Congrats to the Rams!

LCA has alot of work to do to compete with the RAMS next week! Yikes!

Solid start to the season for the Rams. Now let's watch Aaron Pettrey carry the banner tomorrow, against Texas...

Firstly beating Ashland is nobody's "super bowl", a great win to be sure against a heavily favored , Larger school. Secondly, we don't have the luxury of playing Ashland at Raceland, so if the kids want to celebrate the win at midfield or for that matter in the middle of central park, then they will. Act like you've been there before, the Ram program has been there plenty of times before, it's Ashland who acts like they've never been there before with how they handled the loss, plenty of sour grapes to go around, coaches fighting with parents, parents fighting with parents, as a result of an opening season loss. A true fiasco post game for Ashland. People should really consider getting their own house in order before telling others how to straighten theirs.

Oh geez. Here we go....

First of all welcome to the site RR! We can't complain about officiating, just have to work through it. Bad calls or no calls are a part of it sometimes. I agree with the Rams defense and special teams play this year. They have been excellent. GCHS came into this game ready to play, they were prepared and should get credit. Raceland was the better team and they made the plays they had to to pull out a victory. Again, welcome to the site.

I know the rules about no sour grapes on the calls. Greenup County came to play. I said earlier I thought it would be close. I just hate it when late hits causes a team (no matter what team) to have a player get hurt. A big thanks to all the other teams for supporting the Rams on the site. Congradulations on another win for Ashland and the other winning teams last night. I go back to the statement one game at a time. Monday back to work.

It's always good to beat GC, Especially at GC. This was a win you put in your pocket and learn from. There's a lot of work to be done starting Monday and I believe the coaches and the team will be working hard next week. The season really starts next Friday with a record of 0-0.

As for the firetrucks, it only takes one phonecall from one parent for the trucks to come out. The coaches probably didn't want them last night. I followed the buses part of the way home and the boys weren't celebrating much.

:thumb: I can promise that it wasn't any coaches that called for a celebration last night. I think that you are correct in saying it was probably a parent. I don't know about anyone else but I am tired of talking abou the fire trucks.:D . The Rams have a lot of work to do before they face LCA friday night. That is for sure and I think that the coaching staff will work them hard all week to get ready for the opener of the "real" season (district).

A win is a win. The rams did not play good football tonight. They are capable of so much more. I felt that after the Rams got out to a 14-0 lead they let up and thought it was going to be easy. However, I think this win will be good for the Rams in the long run. A ugly win like this one will bring you back down to earth really fast. Rams learn from your mistakes and come to work monday. LCA is going to be a battle.

racelandram there are a lot of Raceland fans, myself included that respect and admire the Tomcat program for what they have accomplished throuhout the years. They have a great tradition. Ashland always plays with class, their fans treat others with respect and I will return that respect to them. We here at Raceland have a tradition and pride our own and I am proud of that also. Like I said I for one respect and have a lot of friends in "Tomcat land" and even more since I have been a bgp member. All Raceland fans do not feel this way about Ashland and I belive that more than not respect them.

Congratulations to the Rams for the the sweet W over a cross county rival. I drove past your fire trucks on my way home from P West last night. Made me slow down though because I thought something was wrong till I got close.

I'll also be watching for Aaron Pettrey today.

Regarding those fire trucks ...

Use 'em if you got 'em. :D

:thumb: Thanks for the support once again Greybeard!! It is appreciated. All eyes will be on Pettrey today and I pray for his success. As for the fire trucks, I hope we get to hear them again.;)

Nice job by your Tomcats:thumb:
