The MLB All-Star Game Will No Longer.....

Featured Replies

Good news. MLB ASG will no longer determine who gets home field advantage in the WS.

Pennant winner with the best record gets it.

I hope this doesn't take away the intensity with which the SD Padre players play with.

This is great news. That was such a dumb rule to have in the first place.

I'm sure Mike Greenberg is devastated...he took credit for pushing the WS/All-Star game tie in. I'm glad it's gone.

Finally, I'm glad even though not having home field actually helped my team this year.

And if they have the same record?

This is the one year that it probably benefited the team in the league that didn't win the All-Star game though. Having Schwarber play DH in four games is better than if he could have only played DH in three.

But I agree. Glad they finally changed this rule back.

It totally helped my Cubbies this year. On top on getting Schwarber for an extra game, I think it helped not playing in front of Cubs fans in Wrigley. I feel like you could cut the tension in the air with a knife when they played at home during the World Series. I felt like that was a big reason why they went 3-1 in Cleveland and 1-2 in Chicago.

And if they have the same record?

Team of player who can get the most chaw in their mouth. Only the ones that are grandfathered in though, new plays aren't allowed.

And if they have the same record?

Team who can name the most "unwritten rules" of baseball gets the nod.

Team with the most "n's" in their name.

Team with the most players in dreads.

Team with the most baseball pant material crumpled around their cleats.

I mean, heck, how easy can this be?

And if they have the same record?

Head to Head, probably.

Sad to hear this. No real reason to have an allstar game now.

No real reason for any sport to have an All-Star game really. It used to be to showcase players you didn't ever see. Now we have 24/7 access across the country to all teams. It's just for fun, I don't find them entertaining so I don't watch. Some people like them.

And if they have the same record?

In all honesty...

Tie-breaker #1: Team with better inter-league record that year.

Tie-breaker #2: League with better inter-league record that year.

Just for giggles...

Tie-breaker #3: Team that has gone the longest since last World Championship.

Tie-breaker #4: Team that has gone the longest since last World Series appearance.

Tie-breaker #5: Team that has gone the longest since last playoff appearance.

Not surprising this didn't get that right. AL teams have the obvious advantage.
