The interesting thing I'm reading is the FEC still oversees the recount and the donations given. So all donors will have to be made public. It is going to be interesting to see where the money is coming from.

This is the R's chance to pass bills that are good for ALL Americans, not just dusting off their pet project bills that should never have been written. This will be the Trump Administration and Ryan and McConnell would do well to remember that. They've been known to obstruct their own President before. This truly is an opportunity to make America better.

 

I hope they do. As I said, this is their chance for greatness. And they won't have any excuses if things don't work out.

This sort of nonsense is so unlike anything we've seen from other presidents it's hard to make sense of. I think a lot of observers are right that he uses these outbursts as distractions from more serious criticisms. The media goes into a feeding frenzy over it and his core supporters puff out their chest that he's validating their chain email news, but the more substantive criticisms get pushed to the back burner.

 

I don't think the president blasting conspiracy theories and falsehoods on social media should be "normalized," but it should also be viewed as bait.

Where as this recount was started by a group claiming voting machines were hacked without any evidence of hacking . This directly impacts us as a country moving forward because its giving some groups a false impression election results will change.

I must of missed where this thread was discussing Trump's insecurities.

For the record I think Trump's tweet was dumb.

 

But I find it hypocrtical to condemn Trump for claiming illegal votes and not do to the same for Jill Stein and Hillary Clinton for filing for a recount based on hacking/illegal votes.

Recounts are not new. Again, if the rules are met then have at it. Who cares what "some groups" think?

 

Our future POTUS should be above this type of commenting. It's a poor look.

 

It's pertinent to this thread because it says there were illegal votes. Not sure how a) he knows that and b) why he assumes every supposed illegal vote went against him.

 

 

Our next POTUS says the vote count was wrong. Maybe we do need a recount.
