Here comes the recount protest.

Featured Replies

For the record I think Trump's tweet was dumb.

But I find it hypocrtical to condemn Trump for claiming illegal votes and not do to the same for Jill Stein and Hillary Clinton for filing for a recount based on hacking/illegal votes.

I want rationale @Clyde back. Melt down mode hasn't been very becoming of you.

Meltdown ? Hardly. Give me an example of where I am melting down on this subject.

Don't be like Jesse James, Lipton. It's a poor look.

Recounts are not new. Again, if the rules are met then have at it. Who cares what "some groups" think?

Our future POTUS should be above this type of commenting. It's a poor look.

It's pertinent to this thread because it says there were illegal votes. Not sure how a) he knows that and b) why he assumes every supposed illegal vote went against him.

Our next POTUS says the vote count was wrong. Maybe we do need a recount.

So you really can't admit when your being hypocritical can you. I agree what Trump said was dumb. But this thread is about the recount that you have no problem with because it isn't Trump leading the recount.

It is really funny.

I already said both sides are hypocrites in a earlier thread. I call it out when I see it.

The silence from the Hillary supporters on this topic speaks volumes. It's very funny though after Hillary and her supporters claimed the moral authority on thia topic then to do a 180.

If both sides are hypocritical why then would only one side be subject to a more harsher criticism? The reactions of both sides mirror each other wouldn't you say?

I'm not going back and copying and pasting your posts for the last 3 weeks. It's been amusing to read. I've stayed silent to allow those on the left to vent and recover out of respect. But my lord Clyde. Get a grip, Trump won he wasn't my choice either but he won. It's time now to move on and talk about more important topics. Not about how Trump vents on twitter. It's old news and he won inspite of it , this isn't some new revelation.

I'm not sure what's so funny. Without looking back I'm pretty sure I said the results wouldn't change and if they wanted a re-count go ahead. It's their right.

I also don't recall ever blasting Mr Trump for his stance on the silly question during the debate about him honoring the results. I thought it was a stupid question to ask.

So where is my inconsistency?

I honestly don't know what you are saying here. I assume many Trump supporters would of reacted saying fraud but there is no way to know for sure since Trump won.

We do know many on the left , including posters on this board had disdain for the idea of not acceppting the results and we know those same posters have now decided that it's ok.

I can't ridicule someone on an assumption but I can based on proof positive evidence.

Again, no examples? Lame. If you're going to make an accusation have the cajones to back it up.

Having questions about how he will govern based on statements made and choices for his administration is hardly "melting down."

How he vents on Twitter is telling.

Fine Clyde if you want me to believe if Trump was calling for a recount you would be fine with it I'll take you at your word.

Just seems puzzling you have a bigger problem with Trumps tweet than people actually calling for a recount. It doesn't mesh with your above statement.

You either accept the results or you don't.

I think we have rules in place for this, right? If so, why shouldn't we allow it to take place? I doubt it has any impact BUT if it did then we need to do the right thing. I'd say the same if you were the candidate going for the recount.

What's the harm if the result stays the same or if the count shows HRC really won? We all want to follow rules, correct ?

As I stated earlier. I know the results will stay the same. It is giving a false sense of hope to Hillary supporters and now allowing the country to move forward. That is the harm.

As Chuck Todd stated on Meet the Press it smells like someone else is putting Jill Stein up to this.

The accusation of you having a meltdown? I would start with your comments on some the appointees Trump has made.

Steve Bannon I get the criticism, I just think he is a jerk. But there is no evidence of him being a racist. Literally zero except for one comment about the Alt-right. The Boston Globe did an article today where they interviewed his former classmates from Harvard. Interesting read. Also if Breitbart really were a White power site then why do they employ jewish people, gay people, hispanic , african american and asian americans. Is it the anti establishment website and I don't like how it supported Trump. But reading many peoples comments on this site told me they never read it. Breitbart is the rights version of the Huffington Post. Bannon is a bully and a jerk. But I can't call someone a racist without proof.

Jeff Sessions calling him a racist is just an overreaction. That man has a record of being a US Attorney , Alabama AG and 20 years of a Senator. You can't use any of his record against him so the left uses a joke and one other statment and that defines a mans entire life.

I'm guessing that you could see that it's pretty safe to say that Trump supporters would be fine with a recount without us having the benefit of knowing for sure. Previous to the election he said that it was rigged and his supporters agreed, so I'm guessing that we can agree that it would likely have happened.

Considering that both sides are guilty of being hypocritical is there any more reason to show one side anymore distain than the other?

If Trump supporters are now objecting to a recount when they would've been fine with one if he had lost, how is that any less silly than Hillary supporters poo-pooing what he had originally said, and are now in support of a recount?

No matter what foot the shoe has been on both sides have flipped with their reactions. If it serves them, they're fine, if it doesn't they're not.

With all of this in mind why is your criticism more harsher towards one side and not the other? You're claiming that you're seeing the hypocrisy, but only condemning one side.

Could it because this exact topic is talking about the request of a recount from a side who claimed they would accept the results. This topic isn't about Trump or his supporters. It seems pretty logical.

So you're saying that what is driving your criticism is merely the matter at hand, just that and nothing more?

Literally I'm saying I'm crticizing them because this topic we are discussing shows this group of people being hypocrites.

Why would team Hillary join a recount when they already conceded. As I said early I'm going to thoroughly enjoy reading the donor list when it is made public.
