I'm not quite old enough to have seen Herschel and Bo. But Vick was fun to watch.

Also, it's easy to assume that Lamar's book is still unwritten. He wins the trophy this season (and next) and I think this argument changes dramatically.

If he wins 2 Heismans I don't think it's an argument. He probably goes down as the greatest college football player of all time. But only one player ever has one 2 Heismans so I wouldn't bet on it.

Take a look at that Auburn roster Cam won with....A handful of guys that are on NFL rosters, but outside of Fairley, no one of much significance.

I don't need to scan the roster to know that Auburn had more talent. Year in and year out, teams like Bama, Auburn, LSU etc have better talent than Louisville.

 

You might have one or two guys currently on Louisville's roster that are "locks" to play in the NFL. You act like they have a roster full.

Agree, and again, Lamar's book is still open. They end up in the playoff and pull an upset this discussion changes.

Probably. Lamar is in Year 1 as a starter. Let's talk after next season, tone will be different I'd say.

Ummm...basic philosophy in basketball is if you have two guys that are essential equal, take the one that's bigger. I will take that philosophy here and take Cam, though I really like what Lamar is doing and enjoy watching him. I have to wonder if/when he takes a big hit, will he be able to shake it off or will it put him down. With Cam he could shake it off. I don't think Lamar has had that big hit...yet.

Lamar is faster and can out-quick a defender on a dime, but other than I take Cam in every other way. If Jackson is 10X the athlete of Cam, then Lamar is the greatest athlete to ever walk the Earth.

Lamar is 10x as athletic as Cam. Lamar will be better next year than he is this year, so I'll take my chances with him.

Newton is one of the best athletes on the planet. LJ is also an exceptional athlete, and as many have stated herein, LJ's legacy is only just beginning, but you can't be serious about LJ being 10x more athletic than Newton. And I don't care for Cam one iota.

I guess it depends on what you consider athletic. Every person is different, I'd say.
