Caldwell let Mayfield off the hook. They didn't keep the pedal on the gas.

North Hardin should have put OCath away when they had them on the ropes.

I'm intrigued by this game. I am familiar with some of the Mayfield guys and I know that if they were playing Alabama they would feel pretty good about their chances. They have every right to feel that way until someone proves them wrong. I'm trying to figure out the OC crowd. They seem quietly confident. It's interesting. However, I still can't get past the North Hardin game. I know there's been some talk about the QB, but to me it was the dominance on both lines of scrimmage that told the tale. Good luck to both teams Friday!

Did you get a chance to watch this game? North Hardin didnt dominate any line of scrimmage. OC had over 200 rushing yards and North Hardin barely had over 100 and 75 of that was the QB scrambling on 3rd and 4th down. Take away a 80 yard pass play at the end of the game for North Hardin and they have around 60 pass yards. It was all about red zone turnovers and penalties on OC. Granted if they play like that against Mayfield it might get ugly. But OC clearly dominated that game upfront. Just turnovers and dumb penalties made this game closer than needed to be.

Did CAL beat DeSales? I'm trying to figure that out.

Last time I remember OC played DeSales Catholic DOMINATED them. DeSales had two huge DEs. Catholic had 250 yards rushing. 28-7 in 2005 Semi Final.

Who was the OCath fan last year who blamed all woes on receivers dropping passes? I fully expected him to be on here discussing his 'dropped balls'.

I was thinking it was either that or the Football program had a fundraiser and charged parents/fans to come watch and breakdown their opponents on Sunday nights!

That's actually not a bad idea, I know of several fans that would pay to come and watch.

OCath is a young team - good but young. I think Last years OC team is better than this years. RB is great, solid QB, but Mayfield always has a ton of speed. I hope I'm wrong, but I see Mayfield winning this game.

Mayfield 35 OC 21

Gotcha. No, I didn't see the game. I was talking about the line discrepancy when DeSales played NH. If OC controlled the LOS against them also, then that answers my question.

Yes they did. Am I missing something??? Same question applies to the comment about the 2005 game between OC and DeSales. Not sure what that means either, but DeSales was AWESOME in 1977, just to be clear....

I'm giving it to you like you give it to me. It will be something if OC pulls this game off. They are a huge underdog. I hope DeSales plays good and wins like they usually do vs. CAL in the playoffs.

I've watched it and OC did not dominate that game up front. They got the better of it by a slim margin, but it was pretty even in the trenches. NH seemed to have no trouble getting pressure on OC's qb, which should be a cause for concern for OC this week. Of course NH didn't rack up huge yardage through the air. OC spent much of the night rushing 3 and dropping 8. Worked well against NH, asking for trouble against Trajon Bright. The dumbest penalties were NH jumping off sides on freeze plays. Those were a major contributor to OC's offense. I get it, you love your team and you're going to advocate for them, but that game was pretty even. It may have been a fluke and I trust you that OC is better than they showed in that one contest, but NH could have easily won that game.

Well I guess Mayfield will have a cake walk then. Mayfield will put a running clock on Catholic after the first play.
