What Trump's Victory Tells Us About Women

Were non-college educated blacks not a huge factor in Obama's two presidential election victories? Did the media feel compelled to talk about that? The answer is no and the question is why not? The fact is educational backgrounds of minority voters and their candidate preferences are rarely reported.

What percent of the total electorate are non-college educated blacks?

I think you may be underestimating her. Watch the PBS Frontline about her. You may dislike her, but she is more than just Bill Clinton's wife. In all honesty being Bill Clinton's wife may have slowed her like RTS said.

She is a classic coattails rider. The only reason she and the rapist stayed married was for political expediency. She needed him in order to run for President. Unfortunately for them, their ploy did not work. I'm betting they are divorced before the next Presidential election. That is if she doesn't kill him first.

I am a white, college educated woman. I have also been around the block a few times. Trump was not my ideal candidate but I voted for him. Yes, he is obnoxious and likely sexist. However, he is the one person who can shake up Washington and send the message that we are tired of politics as usual. I don't believe he is any more sexist than HRC's own husband, or many other male politicians. Trump just runs his mouth, which doesn't bother me. I find it somewhat refreshing.

I can put up with that in order to see the bigger picture. To me HRC was also a very unlikeable person. IMO, she was a liar who felt she was owed the office. She ran for office on the donations of people she would owe once she was in office. To think that I should vote for her simply because she is a woman is insulting to all women. We can think for ourselves.

I believe your post would sum up Mrs. doomer's feelings well.

Too bad any of the 42 other First Ladies didn't figure out the coattail theory. Come to think of it I'm pretty sure a lot of successful people male and female had some folks that paved the way for them...cough...cough...1 million dollar loan.

You guys won. You halted her political career, but find a way to see the forest through the trees here. If she were just Bill's little wifey she would have stayed home in Arkansas or New York or wherever. In over 200 years we haven't had woman that was this successful as a politician.

Analogy: I hate the Laettner Duke squad, but I can admit they were one the greatest teams in NCAA history. I don't spout they were a product of their coaches or cheaters constantly.

FWIW I hope she has created a movement in our young women to involve themselves in politics. HRC may have not been one of their better angels, but she has paved the way for the better angels to step forward and lead.

As I said, she needed the marriage to succeed. Without Bill, she does not become a Senator, where she was largely ineffective and did little more than vote. Without Bill, she does not become Secretary of State, where she accomplished nearly nothing, except her Benghazi legacy. Finally, she needed Bill to run and LOSE twice for President. So successful...

Although I despise her personally and politically, Nancy Pelosi has been a far more successful politician than Hillary Clinton. I would be hard pressed to include Hillary Clinton in a list of top 5 women in terms of political success. Hillary won a rigged nomination over a socialist opponent and then lost to a very weak Republican candidate.

There is no way to look at Hillary's unsuccessful campaign as anything but a political train wreck. Her biggest contribution to future women candidates was to provide textbook examples of mistakes that they should avoid themselves.

We will agree to disagree on 99.9 % of your posts on here. May women not have to marry to advance themselves in the future. I expect Mr. Trump to create an atmosphere that propagates a society that encourages young women in all areas.

There is no way any other person, man or woman, could have carpet bagged into New York like she did without the coattails of her husband.

I'm not a HRC fan. Didn't vote for her, and won't be unhappy to see her finally go away. But she is far from the only person who got their careers kickstarted by being married or related to the right person. Often times in life, it takes knowing or being related to someone to catch a break....the skill lies in what you do with that. Just simply being related or knowing someone isn't enough...you need to have the skill to take advantage of that situation. HRC did.

She had the connections but not the skill. If she had the skill, she would have had some accomplishments to cite during the campaign. She blew her opportunities to build a salesworthy campaign. Despite being gifted a stint at both Senator and Secretary of State, she had nothing to run on other than being female.
