What one thing about a Trump presidency gives you the most concern?

Featured Replies

Pretty simple.

I'm deeply worried that in the Trump administration privacy and personal liberties will take a big blow in the name of "law and order" and national defense. Much of his campaign rhetoric has indicated as such and this greatly worries me.

He has an authoritarian impulse, from some of his policy ideas (deportation force, nationwide stop and frisk, jailing rivals), to his petty vindictiveness (he sues everyone in his way, he's castigated the justice system when it rules against him, he's threatened media outlets that were critical of him, and he's apparently "keeping a list" of enemies from this campaign), to his bizarre admiration and possible connection to Putin (his campaign chair was a former advisor to Yanukovych and a conduit between Russian oligarchs, the Russian deputy foreign minister claims they've been in contact with Trump's campaign throughout the election), to the extremists he's surrounded himself with as his advisers (like Flynn, Giuliani, and O'Bannon - go read Breitbart if you're curious what the next four years will be like).

You might say "oh, but Congress and the Court will hold him in check." But, our laws and institutions are only as strong as the people want them to be, and he has a core group of die-hard supporters that will fiercely support him in these pursuits.

That's what concerns me the most. Policy disagreements I can live with.

The thing that concerns me is the "protesters" attacking our country from within.

I think it is the lack of support he will get from those that didn't vote for him. Anything he does will be considered wrong. They have already acted out with their protest and riots. I know time heals, but I think the resistance to this president will be far worse than the resistance to those of the past.

My main concern about Trump is his temper.

Him being on twitter.

I could see him saying the wrong thing to the wrong person at any time.

Agreed, the Civil war will indeed get worse unfortunately.

My main concern about Trump is his temper.

...and the tendency to open his mouth and say something that is offensive to a large part of the population.

I honestly believe that the "attacks on personal freedom" that are feared by the left are every bit as blown out of proportion as by those on the right that thought mass gun confiscations were forthcoming in a Clinton administration. A person of color that I respect but disagree with on most political issues has already started talking about return to Jim Crow.

That's because the current administration has let things go too far for too long with little to no repercussions. Somehow in the last 4 years, it has became acceptable to assault those who disagree with you, burn and steal things when you don't get your way, etc.

Why would they not support him. He is in line with their beliefs. Do you expect them to support the Liberals? His supporters are why he is here. Their beliefs and values are 180 degrees from the left. Thats why Hillary lost. She was out of touch with middle America. All liberals are. Middle America has been talked down to in this Election at every angle by all liberals. They spoke loud and clear. I say the left is as much to blame as anyone for Trump. You guys made your bed. Now accept it.

I couldn't care less about that. After the last 2 days half the country needs offended. I care about his temper if Putin, China, North Korea or Iran says something sideways to him.

Exactly and this is a big part of why I became a Trump fan. You cant break our laws and then do nothing. Like someone said last night. You got 70 days to keep pulling that crap. Protest all you want, but leave the violence and law breaking out of it.

My main concern about Trump is his temper.

Hard to narrow it down to one thing, but this might be it.
