You're probably in the minority with that line of thinking (of those groups). And as others have mentioned, I think it's clear if given the opportunity Pence will pounce on it.

FWIW, I don't see Pence or Congress pushing back against that ruling...SCOTUS has ruled, no need to waste time or energy trying to fight it...I don't think they will either.

 

Same-sex marriage is constitutionally protected, but that wouldn't stop Congress from working to fund conversion therapy, requiring it to be a treatment option at counseling centers receiving federal funds, or otherwise undermining public protections for LGBT people. That would be consistent with Pence's record and he'll probably be the administration's point man on legislation. And just because the Court ruled on same-sex marriage doesn't mean it suddenly became electorally popular for a lot of Republicans.

Googling 'Trump supporters violence' and 'Clinton supporter violence' does not yield much in way of Trump people attacking Clinton people. Most references go the other direction including a Boston graffiti incident and an angry anti-Trump Latino woman calling for violence and saying 'there will be casualties on both sides.'

I don't see that happening, I think it is just a lot of fear mongering still. I could be wrong but I don't see it as something that will be front and center or even on the back burner. It is also stupid to waste any political capital on this issue, there doesn't seem to be a large clamoring to get it reversed across the country. Yeah there are always some that push agendas just to say they are pushing it, but I don't see this issue moving forward much.

I'm not dismissing it, I don't think it's made up per se. My point is I just don't think it will be or should be a focus of the White House going forward.

 

While I personally think much of what is decided in Washington should actually be decided in the local State House, this isn't one of those issues. This issue should be a national mandate and should remain that way.
