November 7, 20169 yr I wonder which side gained the most using the election as leverage. Have to imagine the democrats in city government really wanted the trains and buses running. I'll bet the transit workers got a lot more than they would have if they'd timed their strike differently. The guys running that local are definitely getting re-elected.
November 7, 20169 yr The president of the company I work for told me this morning that he ran into a line on Saturday at the place I voted, but the wait was less than 20 minutes.
November 7, 20169 yr So they screwed up and were not prepared for the numbers that turned out for early voting, didn't have enough locations/equipment and they equals suppression? What am I missing?
November 7, 20169 yr Cant wait to see if the lady that has been dead for over a decade still shows up as able to vote on the register tomorrow.
November 7, 20169 yr The author mentions dissatisfaction that there is only one place to do early voting in Hamilton County. Vote on Election Day or absentee, problem solved?
November 7, 20169 yr Voter suppression absolutely equals voter fraud.Voter surpression......like voter fraud, does not exist, or is so minimal, doesn't matter......according to our many BGP Gullibles.
November 7, 20169 yr Voter surpression......like voter fraud, does not exist, or is so minimal, doesn't matter......according to our many BGP Gullibles. There are many instances of voter suppressions throughout the history of our country. Literacy tests, threats of violence, randomly changing laws and regulations have occurred on a fairly regular basis and eliminates people from voting in large numbers. Voter fraud also has a long history in our country, but voter fraud is incredibly difficult to pull off efficiently and in large enough numbers to swing large scale elections. I question a lot of the information shared on this site through inflammatory memes, and links from questionable sources with very little factual, and don't blindly share any and everything I see online. But I guess that makes me gullible:idunno:

You didn't miss anything. In fact, you struck at one of the basic problems with the system. My educated guess is that this is often no accident.

Let's say the issue in Hamilton county wasn't an accident. What is the leadership make up of Hamilton Co. regarding party affiliation?
November 7, 20169 yr Author The article is just one example. @woodsrider , I would hope that no precinct anywhere would require you to wait more than 20 minutes. Tomorrow the same problem that occurred in Cincy will exist in some key states that only allow Election Day voting. That is a violation of our constitutional rights and voter suppression. I'll walk into my little precinct tomorrow and walk straight up to the booth. Many Americans don't recieve the same luxury I get and it is wrong. I don't care who they vote for.

We have a constitutional right to vote. Now where does it say we have a constitutional right to not only vote but we shouldn't have to wait more than 5 mins to do so. However I tend to agree that having to wait more than 20-30 minutes is insane. If everyone did theirs like KY you could really have as many people as you wanted filling out their ballots. It takes a few seconds to run it through the machine so these waits should be none existent in KY. My real question posed goes to the narrative that the R's are the evils ones trying their best to suppress voters. Is that the case here? Is this just another example of politicians suppressing votes? Or is it really just a case of bad planning that has been used to beat the suppression drum?

November 8, 20169 yr We've had too many cases in recent years where legislatures and/or individuals with power have done something that is almost certainly done in an effort to reduce minority voting. Whether it's changing voting district lines, removing people from voter rolls, trying to eliminate Sunday voting, not having places to vote by universities, and other methods it's clear some are trying to make voting for some groups harder. Certainly goes against everything we talk about as a country.
November 8, 20169 yr I wonder which side gained the most using the election as leverage. The Democrats will be helped by the strike being settled, according to the Pundits.
