Maxpreps Top 25 Medium School Rankings

Congrats to the Purples. That's some good company they're keeping.

Glad to see the Purples getting some props nationally. They earned it!

Much deserved recognition for the Purples. Congrats!

Certainly a great accomplishment. Wishing this team could play the best (Trinity) in the state and other states as well. This past summer at the 7on7 in Dalton, GA we noticed that Clark Payne, BG QB, was on the same playing field as some of the competition seen in Dalton we knew we were in for an outstanding year once again.

The teams they saw in the summer at this tourney with some 5 star QBs (including the #1 rated QB in the country in Cartersville, GA whose team happens to be rated #14 in nation as mid size school with BG being #10) solidified Clark's place as one of the greatest QBs BG has seen.

Rather than splitting hairs over Clark Payne vs Devin Hayes - how many schools would love to have those 2 QBs back to back!

Keep up the good work BG - if we didn't have to play some of the games we play (district) and could replace those with other schools, are rankings would go much higher.

Gotta Love seeing our Purples represent KY

Thats because they are gooooood.

Not to thread jack, but another team that stands out on the list is Columbus St. Francis De Sales at number 6. De Sales was the only Ohio team, out of three, to beat Covington Catholic this season. De Sales has a very good running back that the Colonels didn't have an answer for which lead to Covington Catholics worse loss of the season, 49-17. In the playoff preview, I picked the Purples over the Colonels 49-28. It will be interesting to see how that plays out if the two teams meet.

Very interesting point JD! I'm sure the Purples would like to get their hands on that tape prior to that game IF it happens!

By the way, is "tape" out of date now that everything is digital? I guess it's all still film though...

It will make for some interesting discussion if the two teams meet. I'm not big on comparing scores, but it would make for good discussion prior to and after the game, in reference to how good the three of them really are.

As far as tape goes, I'm sure games are still filmed, but I think most are also using the HUDL for that as well. I imagine that BG, Cov Cath, and De Sales all use HUDL so access to game footage should be simple.

After watching Knox Catholic dismantle Belfry I would have loved to see a BG/KC regular season game this year.

And obviously a match up against Trinity would be even better.... the way this season is likely to play out we will never know who the true #1 in the state is.

It would have been a very great one.

Bowling Green is deeper and a little better on Defense.

Catholic has higher end playmakers. That's no slight on Bowling Green by any means as they are pretty first class in their own right. Just Amari Rodgers is one of those rare High School receiver talents and the Kuerschen kid is outstanding in his own right. Both QB's cancel each other out. They are both absurdly efficient and accurate. Catholic is better on the OLine.. Catholic has perhaps one of the best OLine's in America with three potential All-Americans by the time their HS Careers end.

Offense= Advantage KC

Defense= Advantage BG

Special Teams= Push

I think it would be a toss-up game. I would probably give Bowling Green the overall edge due to their roster depth, but Amari Rodgers is that special kind of player who could flip that in a hurry with his ability to make a play that changes the game.

Side Note: I would love Belfry to have had another crack at KC right now when they were protecting the football. Not sure they beat them but felt like Belfry gave everyone a disservice in that game by fumbling away any shot to make it exciting.
