November 2, 20169 yr What if one of these scenario happens, Clemson loses the ACC to VT or UNC, Bama loses to Florida, or Washington doesn't win the Pac 12. If Ohio State wins the Big 10 (making their loss to them look better) is Oklahoma still alive? If Oklahoma runs the table from here on out and one of those scenarios happens, does a 2 loss Big 12 champion get in over a 1 loss non conference champ? I say absolutely no way, but this committee is weird.
November 2, 20169 yr Based on that line of thinking I definitely see how A&M is above Washington. Their one loss is to the best team in the country. Switch Washington's best opponent to date with Alabama. A&M is probably undefeated and Washington has one loss. I understand it, but I don't agree with it. A&M got rolled by Bama, if they lost by a TD or less I could understand it. I don't think Washington is 19 points worse than Bama, but we know A&M is. The committee isn't taking margin of victory (or defeat) into consideration which is a huge plus for A&M and a huge knock on UofL.
November 2, 20169 yr Another interesting scenario is this, who would the committee take if A&M and Michigan each are a 1 loss non conference champ both with presumably a loss to a playoff team. The committee doesn't like Michigan as much as I thought they would because they have mediocre looking Clemson ahead of them. If that 4 spot is open for a non conference champ I think that would be interesting.

Michigan has 3 wins over top 15 teams (Colorado, Wisconsin, Penn State). Clemson has 3 wins over top 25 teams (Florida State, Auburn, Louisville), but two wins over top 10 teams.

Clemson is able to flip a switch when they play UofL and FSU, but they should have lost to NC State who UofL steamrolled in the 1st quarter. It's definitely an inexact science, but I was quite surprised to see Clemson at 2 after I saw UofL at 7.

It's definitely an inexact science, but I was quite surprised to see Clemson at 2 after I saw UofL at 7. I agree, but I think all 3 of Clemson's signature wins would beat (rather easily) any of the three Michigan has. I think that's why their ahead at the moment. Michigan will definitely end up ahead of them if they both win out IMO.
