Well it wasn't pretty on the defensive side. I know they probably didn't prepare for any Zone read stuff with the qb running. However the Browns made them look dumb on it.

The Browns will eventually win a game or two because they play everyone tough. Just hopefully none of those wins comes against the bengals.

On a positive note the Bengals offense looked good today. The Browns defense had only given up barely more than a 100 yards rushing a game and the Bengals ran for over 250. Maybe this will be like 2014 when the running game got going half way through the year.

This is where stats can be misleading. Jeremy Hill boosted his yards per carry by almost one full yard per carry with that 74 yard run. He was averaging 3.6 per carry coming into this game, ranked #27 in the NFL. That one run moved him to #15 in yards per carry, at 4.5.

This game Hill rushed 9 times for 168, 18.7 per carry. He will probably be top 5 in the NFL after this week's games in yards per carry, now averaging 5.2 per carry.

I really needed a boost after last night. But this wasn't as big of a high as I was expecting. Get to the bye at 4-4 and see what happens. 10-6 wins the division.

I get your point. However the same can be said about any back who has a few long runs so far this year. Those long runs is going to boast backs yards per carry. All backs have probably more plays that they only get zero to 2 yards and if you never have long runs it never balances things out to get the average up after the short runs.

Hopefully this is a sign of them getting run game going. In 2014 it was about this point when Hill and the running game took off. It is crazy though how much a players average can go up though after one game.

It's Cleveland...

Cannot afford to miss 2 FGs against the likes of Pitt or NE if they make the playoffs!

If Nugent was another team not

Named the Browns or Bengals would he still be employed?

The offense is good enough to take the team to the playoffs and win a game. Unfortunately the defense is not at that level. We won fairly easily, however, the controlled the ball a lot more than needed. The defense really figured it to mid way through the 3rd quarter and it really was never in doubt.

Good teams that ain't happening

Definitely was a good sign seeing the offense play well today. Up until today you couldn't say the offense is good enough to get them to the playoffs and win a game. Today was the first time they scored more than 23 points all year. However there is something about playing the Browns that gets the Bengals running game going.

With Eifert now slowly working his way back hopefully the offense can pick up where they left off today. Defensively you are right they haven't figured that out yet. D line has been inconsistent and it seems Tez and Dansby aren't on the same page on things. That has to get better for them to get it figured out on defense.

I'll take the win but the Browns are bad. Even worse with a limited Pryor & new QB.

Bengals made some stupid mistakes that will cost them in a "win or go home" situation. Roughing the punter (15 yard penalty variety), 2 missed FG's and a careless fumble on an INT return. Those are crucial plays that will seal a team's fate.

Lafell has finally become a legitimate #2 option, and it was nice to have Eifert back, even in a limited role. Hill has finally returned to form and Gio is always solid.

I'm also putting Winston in the starting lineup in London.

Yes! Seattle and Arizona would gladly take him after what happened in their game tonight.

Nugent was top 10 in the league coming into the game, perfect inside the 50.

The Seahawks and Cardinals have two of the games top kickers. Last night was the exception, not the rule for them. Nugent's performance was just another Sunday at the office for him. He's trash.

You have to put Winston in the lineup. Ogbuehi has been trash so far.

Crowd got pretty loud yesterday when they showed Leah Still on the big screen.
