Nicholas is legit and still the best team in the disctrict night in night out. outside of the top 2 or 3 teams in 1a anyone can be beaten on any givin night. Same styles clashed and bracken seemed to have just executed better and wanted it more. I believe the sizemore kid is still in his 20s if I'm not mistaken, definitely an impressive turn around and resume building season. Don't think we have seen the last of Nicolas though at all. Excited to see what this district does in the post season as a whole.

 

Disagree, Nicholas would be two or three scores consistently behind Hazard and Williamsburg and most of the other top 10 in 1a. Schedules of who they play may make one look better on paper, but not in reality.

Didn't say they were better than anyone other than in their district but I do think their a top 10 team in the state, 8-1 is nothing to be embarrassed about with their schedule.. could have easily dropped 3 or 4 games and they haven't phoned in a game yet they brought it last night, bracken was just at home and playing at another level. Williamsburg and hazard are definitely good teams but multiple scores better I'm not willing to believe. Good thing is we might get to find out that's the beauty of sports!

Ya. I'd say the Polar Bear Nation realistically is leaning that way. I'm not sure though, there is something to be said for a bye and a major game coming to town. I'm not sure how they feel, but I am sure that there was some celebrating in Brooksville last night!

I thought they were higher than that on the KHSAA rankings,( at least at that time). Bracken was unranked then, right? and 11th last night against an undefeated #5. Can't forget beating an underrated team on their home field(Paris). In my opinion, if the Brossart loss to Nicholas was say by one point and they did beat Bracken, I would put Brossart at #2. If anything Bracken is hands down the #1 and Nicholas and Brossart are tied at #2. What say you? Doesn't really matter, it is what it is, just for argument's sake.

Paris played both teams...Greyhounds we're leading both games in second half..was very impressed w Bracken Co...more so than Nicholas.

Harlan hurt your chances last night losing to Pineville. The team from Indiana only has 9 games and that hurt as well. But they may have a playoff game but not sure how that works in Indiana. The other teams on the schedule gotta help you but I think it's still solid that Nicholas is the 1.

Switzerland Co finished their season Friday night with a playoff loss.

Unless it's changed out of state teams are worth only 1 point, no more no less.

I think the #2 seed works very favorably for the Polar Bears. First they can get their first playoff victory ever on their home turf against Fairview. This could generate the momentum needed to carry them into 2nd round winnable match-up, where and against whom to be determined.

If you want to look at the only rankings where people really are paying attention and work hard at - the BGP rankings - Harlan has not been in the top 10 at any time this year. The highest they probably were was 13.

 

Hazard and Williamsburg would both be favorites over Nicholas County and Bracken County, but I wouldn't say by multiple scores. At the most 2 TD favorites over both of them. More like 7-10 point favorites.

 

Fairview is a winnable game for Bracken County, but if Fairview gets their injured players back it will be a very tough game and no surprise to me if Fairview wins.

No disrespect intended but the BGP rankings are the one I look at last. We have had the best season ever at BC and beat some good teams but get no love on BGP and that's fine. Just beat a team that was in the BGP top 10 and I doubt we still get any love. It's all good rankings are just that a matter of certain people opinion. All rankings are like that for the most part in the grand scheme of things they mean about as much as the paper they are printed on:thumb:
