Covington Catholic 20 Highlands 19 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

Like someone said earlier, freshman is great for seeing what kind athletes a grade has but a lot can happen in three years. The biggest thing that scew freshman results is that usually a few key players onfreshman teams quit playing football to focus on other sports.

Would that mean the HHS players are fresher and less fatigued vs the more fatigued 2-way CCH players??

Possibly, but my guess is at the freshman level, there is a much bigger difference in talent drop off when platooning at the high school level. So my guess is that Cov Cath may bet fatigued, but it's not like they are going against the top talent on each possession like you could at the high school level. Platooning teams at the freshman level are developing the talent. So my guess is that talent on the field more often wins out at the lower levels. Again, I think the Birds will be just fine.

Calvary is a school in Taylor Mill and the hill where Jesus was crucified.

I believe Highlands' faithful are hoping the CAVALRY is coming.

Okay...back to your debate about missed XP's, bad lights, and whether or not these freshmen games mean a hill of beans in predicting Varsity results.

Well done.

FWIW, it was not a Highlands Fan that started that thread. Not saying you said it was, but I thought it was important to mention that it was not a Highlands fan that started saying that.

Yes it was - in fact it's only Highlands fans that are saying that. They're the insiders, and they know more than us outsiders about their program and have been very clear to point that out. They all know what we don't know and have posted many times about it. Shall I repost them all?

Agreed, just sometimes some of you all have made it seem like you all believe it will be back to complete dominance with this group coming up, and that is what I believe people disagree with. Highlands no doubt will be back to competiting for the top spot in NKY, and obviously state titles. I think there will be fun battles for the top NKY spot for the next few years between a few schools.

I may have missed it but I don't think I've seen any HHS poster say that they will be back to the complete dominance with this group. If so that is simply not realistic. That was a special run.

As pointed out, it's very obvious that several other top schools also have more cavalry coming, CCH, Ryle and SK to name three and I'm sure there are others that will be reloading. You're are right that it's going to be exciting times in NKY over the next few years.

I encourage everyone, including you, to go back and look at post #1 in the thread "Highlands-is the calvary coming?" Pay close attention to who posted the first post.

It doesn't matter who said what or when it was said. We have explained many times what we mean and how we know. So say it anyway you want, help is on the way. Perceive it how ever you'd like.

And yes, we do know more about HHS program and anyone outside the program.

Yea, and if you had read the first post, you would know that I'm not the one saying, and more inportantly, not the one who started saying, 'the cavalry is coming'. Only the staunchest Highlands supporters and direct pipeline insiders are saying that. I asked what are they basing it on?

Not that it matters to this thread, or really anything at all other than pointing out when you are wrong, I said that the thread was not started by a Highlands Fan. You said "Yes it was." You started the thread. SO, either you are a Highlands fan, or you are wrong.

But, I digress. It is encouraging that the freshman game was as tight as it was, and I am looking forward to the future matchups between the Birds and colonels. Time to bring some excitement back to the rivalry! :ylsuper:
