BigVMan23
Anyone, and I mean anyone who has anything to do with golf will tell you golf would NOT be the sport it is today without Palmer, and not just as a sport, but as a total event/business. ggclfan
Other golfers may be as respected as Arnie but NO golfer has been or will ever be as loved and revered as Arnie..
The Professor
I'm happy that I saw him at the Senior Tour event at Griffin Gate in the early 80's. A legend that has meant so much to the game.

B-Ball-fan
Rainbows shine before, and after Arnold Palmer's funeral. As most know Arnie's branding logo is this umbrella. mcpapa
I'm just old enough to remember AP's glory years in the early 1960's. The quintessential Everyman that brought golf to the masses. Got to meet him once at a Senior event in Mason Ohio back in the day and asked him to sign my program. He made time for everybody.

Almost beaned me in the head at the Senior event at Kings Island with his tee shot on a Par 4. I was standing on the cart path and it hit about a foot away. Ball went into a small dry drainage area with high grass. He came up and asked if the ball hit the cart path. I said Yes. He hit the next shot about 10 feet. Third shot was from about 120 yards and he put it about 10 feet from the pin and sank the putt for a par.
