ACfan4 Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 This obviously won't ever happen but have always wondered what if their was a 6 team playoff between all 6 class winners. For example Russellville from 1A, Mayfield from 2A, Belfry from 3A, Johnson Central from 4A, Bowling Green from 5A, and Trinity from 6A. The bracket would be odd since its 6 teams but how does everyone think this would play out?
Jumper_Dad Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Mayfield and Belfry could beat 4A Champs but IMO lose to BG or T on most occasions.
Eagle_Pride!! Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Mayfield can hang with most on any given day!
Figs Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 If we went back to 4 classes we would get to see more of these monster matchups....
truebluefan89 Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 That could be really interesting, but might not go exactly as the popular belief. At that point of the season injuries and or fatigue could be a major deciding factor. Of course T would be the logical favorite, but you could see anyone have a stellar night and knock off a favorite.
HSfootballfan18 Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 I wish it would go back to 4 class system!
PurplePride92 Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 My Purple bias says BG wins. It would be fun to watch though.
CoachJ Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 What if there was a playoff between... before I can even contemplate what might happen on the field, I can only think of how ridiculously long the season would be for those teams.
psychicscubadiver Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Well, I imagine 5A and 6A would be on opposite sides of the bracket and have byes in this first round. The first round could be 1A vs 3A and 2A vs 4A with the former facing the 6A champ in the semis and the latter facing the 5A champ. Then the winners would meet in a 'Christmas Bowl' because that's about when the competition would finish. The tournament design wouldn't be too hard, but I can see the logistics of it (and the extension of the season) as a very difficult hurdle.
sportsfan08 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I would think a random draw would be the most equitable way to fill out a bracket. I'd would also argue, due to numbers, that 1A and 2A should have bye weeks because they would automatically be at a disadvantage and have no chance of winning 3 straight games. I know it's all hypothetical, but it'd be nice to see.
Figs Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 What if there was a playoff between... before I can even contemplate what might happen on the field, I can only think of how ridiculously long the season would be for those teams. If the first round of the playoffs were eliminated, that would free up 1 week. But that's another discussion....:lol2::deadhorse:
Toothpick Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Mayfield would take it, simply the Class of Kentucky football
Fear the Nation Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Class champions, then Ky champion. Would be interesting.
