I had a bird eye view on that play. Coach Lewis received one of those penalties. He is normally very mild mannered. That was a little uncharacteristic of him. He might have been trying to fire his team up. Coaches sometimes do this to challenge their teams. I thought John physically took it to the Bruins.

I would have to agree with HCP to a certain extent JH plays with little to no discipline and I have watched them on 3 different occasions the last 2 years and sooner or later the coach has to be responsible for his players actions .

Easy here spin.... Ha... Are you going to preach discipline when the star athlete on your team was slinging ----and is still playing. Easy throwing stones because the people in the state know why the suspension occurred. Some would say why is he still on the field playing. He might have been disciplined for a handful of games, but selling and still playing would be very questionable to a lot of people. What happened to the Corner on last years team? He is going to jail for a long time and may never get out. I'm just saying easy calling out discipline before looking in the mirror. South Warren plays disciplined, but I think there are probably character issues coach Smith deals with as well. I'm not picking a battle with you at all. Just saying look at the full picture here. I think John has issues with penalties. I will never disputed that.

I said JH has sime issues. I agree with you 100%. I was just stating these are high school kids and many of them make poor judgment in decision making. It's not just John Hardin kids I would bet. The last flag was not a late hit even though after watching it back it should've been, had it been a late hit the INT would have been nullified and CH would've kept the ball. It was unsportsmanlike for the JH player standing over the QB and taunting.

I just don't understand how everyone keeps giving Lewis a pass on his team's discipline issues. If you were remotely close to this team you would know its far more reaching than the penalties. I'm sorry but no coach should be ok with 5 personal foul penalties even if they are hustle penalties...i do agree the players should shoulder some of the blame but the coach should shoulder more. Big win for the team, they at least seemed to be all rowing in the same direction now

Great win for JH, but still a lot of work to do. I'm not sure they're going to be challenged again until the last regular season game.

They'll win their district but I'm not sure about the region. There are several talented teams in the other district. I really wish JH would cut down on the turnovers and penalties. They could be a scary team if they did this.

Pretty much what I thought.

I'm all for addressing improvements, but at the same time I'm one of these people that like to address positives as well.

 

The North Hardin and Central Hardin game get the most attention, because after all, like our society as a whole....it seems negativity reigns supreme.

 

But, last week vs PRP...John Hardin only had 5 penalties for 50 yards with NO turnovers. If memory serves me correct, they had those same numbers vs. Warren Central and Bowling Green wasn't far off (despite having a couple turnovers).

 

Despite the picture that seems to be painted, it's not all doom and gloom over there. I've also mentioned this before, but when John Hardin plays away and/or against teams outside of their area...the penalties...for whatever reason, always seem to be less.

The games between John, Central, North, Etown are all considered rivalry games. It's no surprise to me that there are more penalties in these games especially the personal foul/late hit variety. The kids and coaches are pumped up for these games for bragging rights in the area. I would also think that the officials have a bit more of a hair trigger in these games to prevent them from getting out of control early.

JH is doing great; nothing but sunshine over here. No issues, Coach Lewis is a fabulous coach; we are gonna win the state.
