Can Dixie bounce back against the Blue Colonels?

 

Can CovCath rebound from a tough loss to Elder?

I'd be especially interested to hear those opinions of Leatherneck and the rest of the Highlands crew.

 

 

I'm with the majority that doesn't think this will be a close game. CCH has to feel "good" in knowing they have the talent to beat Elder (in spite of the loss, the game had to build confidence). R will concentrate on preaching that they must hold onto the football. I think CCH's O line is better than Dixie's D line. Denham works his tail off and hustles, but CCH's size and athleticism on the O line will just wear Dixie's defense out. I expect Buckley to get a lot of touches and yards. Look for Bovard to catch a bunch of deep passes (didn't see one deep pass attempted to Bovard vs Elder). Dixie is just struggling badly right now. While Dixie has historically struggled early, the loss to Beechwood has to have some folks on Dixie Highway concerned. A close loss to CovCath might help turn it around. A blow out loss and things might go to hades in a basket for the rest of the year. CCH win 42-0.

I think this game will be closer than people think. Dixie has some rebounding to do and CovCath may be flat after a monster effort against Elder.

 

 

 

I agree this will not be a blowout as most are predicting. This is always a Big game for Dixie. The switch in the Dixie's schedule with dropping Lloyd for Beechwood was not the expected result. I do expect Dixie to make a better showing, Dixie knows Cov Cath would like nothing better than put a Big number on them. I just think Dixie will be sky high and more prepared and Cov Cath should not think all they need to do is show up.

What happened to Sandman32? He could always be counted on for some insider info about Dixie. Any word from him up in NKY?

Based on the first two weeks of the season, CCH has the decided advantage in this game. As you point out, even though this will likely be a Dixie loss, an improved performance in this game could get them on the right track for district play. I'm hoping this is the case...Dixie has the makeup to be a good team based on the players that returned this year, they just need to start putting it together on the field.

Dixie did catch one break. It looks like Guru isn't going to attend their game. I would guess that Dixie boosters would be willing to pay to have him stay away.
