Basketball season for 2016/2017 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Highlands? Remember, please be constructive.

My guess is after the departing senior class that was in the mix for a long time, you may see a youth movement here with a very strong sophomore class. Mixed in with a couple key older players, this team should compete in the 9th and if things develop, by the end of the year, could be in title contention for the 9th region. Just some unanswered questions that need addressed and proven out prior to putting them in the 1-2 spot this year. I think they will fall anywhere from 1-5, depending on how they develop.

This will not be the HHS team that people have been accustomed to seeing. This team will be very physical and aggressive, with very good and strong athletes all over the court. They will lack overall size, but I think they will overcome that with strength. The majority of these kids have been playing at a high level and undersized for years.

Team depth should be good and there will be a mix of inside and outside scoring.

This year, win or lose, the next day you will know you played the Birds!

I agree that the soph class will be a big factor beyond Barth but there are a bunch of seniors and a couple of athletic Jrs. in the mix that will create a dynamic that will have to play out. A couple of things are certain regardless of who plays .......they will not be big, they will play hard, and they will be deep.

Ok, I'm done with the "H" teams for now, lol

What's the status of Jenna Martin? I'm hearing she isn't cleared to play yet.

Crickets on Martin, who knows?..........even without her, this team has a lot of seniors, that could be interesting if RCC9 is correct about the underclassmen.

why would she not be cleared like the other 100 that happen each year?

Transferring to North Hardin.

You heard it here first.

I agree why not clear like they do everyone else, state of Kentucky should be embarrassed.

She is not cleared yet? Didn't she play with them this summer? I thought I read on previous threads here that there is no way Highlands would have played her had she not been cleared already. What happened?

Doesn't matter to me where someone plays. But I thought I read the same thing.

On the bolded, you did read that here this summer, KL. It was said so matter-of-factly that we all had to assume it must be true.

MC, obviously you read the same thing. No dog in this fight at all, just affirming that I also read the same posts on Martin this summer.

Look at you with your name in red letters! Congratulations, I guess?!? :thumb:

Playing in the summer has nothing to do with whether you're cleared to compete in the season. Playing in the summer is whether you are enrolled at the school or not.

Sometimes that is what it means.

Well aware of the rules. What we are referring to is what was posted this summer. What was posted was she must be Cleared. That's why we are mentioning it. Highlands person said she must be cleared or she wouldn't be playing.

So what you are saying is she enrolled this summer, but Highlands didn't file her transfer paperwork?
