Congrats East...you guys seem to have a very good team this year. Pikeville starts the season 0-2 and needs a win bad next week against Prestonsburg.

Awesome game! Jags have turned things around this season and look really good. Should be a fun season to follow.

Disappointing loss for the Panthers. Make no mistake, I am a Panther fan all the way, but are there others out there that hate this offense?? I realize we really missed John Michael, but the offense and the play calling mystifies me more every week. Why do you run up the middle on 3rd and fifteen when backed up, then with 3rd and short, drop back 10 yards for a pass?? Talented skill players rarely get the ball. I remember reading a post last year from and Oldham County fan that said we would grow to hate this offense. Funny, I didn't believe him at the time!

I don't know, just heard some Pikeville people talking about his versatility the other day. Probably couldn't hurt.

Pikeville appeared to come out flat in this one.

This team better find some on the field leadership quickly.

From what I heard Pikeville was worn out before the game started. The ride to Corbin was in a charter bus, but the air conditioning was not working the whole way. Once they got there they were basically outside in the heat until the game started. This is no excuse for playing badly, but it certainly couldn't have helped. I agree with MTNFAN, someone needs to step up and lead this team on the field. John Michael Mayo was the leader of this team, and to have any sort of success someone is going to need to take over that responsibility.

I think I got the same Charter bus 2 years ago during the playoffs. We left school and the temp. showed 85 and by the time we were 3 miles from the school it showed 97. THe driver kept driving and I told him we had to find another bus or we would be cooked by the time we got there. The charter came out of Paintsville.

What is so bad about the Pikeville offense? Is it the playcalling or just bad execution? Seems like a lot of people are pointing to this and I am just curious to why?

This is a great win for East I am happy we won because Pikeville was our rivals where I grew up so it's really sweet to win. Now East go out there and take care of Woodford next week.

One reason is that some skill players are just wasted in this offense. I have heard this comment from quite a few knowledgeable people, as well.::mad: :mad:

The windows did not open either, so it was like an oven for the entire trip.
