I counted about 70 players on the CCH roster.

 

Way too many boys playing both ways. You have your starting center and guard also trying to play LB against a spread offense. Kudos to them for playing ever play but if there's not enough depth with 70 players to give them a blow then CCH is in trouble.

Hit the nail on the head. Guys like Shelton and Maile did not come off the field, literally. Galvin plated a lot both ways along woth Anthony Best. Kudos to the kids for going the entire game and not "kicking it in" or begging to come off, but CCH has to do something to get those guys a break. They are human and they are kids.

 

Secondary for CCH has a lot of work to do, coverage was very shaky at times.

 

Offense ran ball well but could not punch it in. Oline played great and AJ had plenty of time to throw. Inaccurate passes and drops plaqued the Colonels once more.

 

 

CCH showed fight. Ryle is dang good.

1. The will must be stronger than the skill. No will from CCH. No passion.

2. Great/Beautiful young men at CCH, not many football players. They have a few but defensively the schemes do not allow for them to work in space.

3. Kids at CCH are cool with being mediocre.

4. I've never seen success from a football program that has to play kids on both sides of the ball. It's science. Body is beat down by the 4th qtr. Show me a program where this works and I'll shut up.

5. As soon as CCH gets out of their own way they will be special. Until then botched kick returns, dropped passes, and a bunch of Cosmic Candy before games are the norm. Yawn....

6. Let's be honest, CCH is a basketball school. And there is nothing wrong with that.

 

Cov Cath has a very good well coached team that fought hard tonight. They just lost to a slightly better team.

Morgan had 295 yards passing 2 tds and ran for 1 td. Junior running back Jacob Chisholm ran 14 times for 147 yards and one touchdown. Zachary Cusick caught four balls for 108 yards and one touchdown.

I had heard from a very reliable source within the program they had a lot of guys that were going to be playing both ways this year. Have to find depth or it is going to be a long year for CCH. Early in the year is the time to play a variety of guys and experiment, especially in the heat. These guys can't keep playing both ways and still be healthy at the end of the year.

I thought the teams were much more even than The score indicates. Chisholm was the difference not Tanner. Two way player is going to make it tough. Pass drops devastating. 2nd down and four inside the ten to make it a one score game and didn't score. Should have rolled AJ out with run pass options IMO

Covington Catholic played hard! Both teams had players cramping. Ryle is the better team. If they had not killed themselves with penalties they easily had two more scores. Those are correctable miscues. the CCH crew will be just fine when they get some kids back healthy.

Young Casey McGinnis is going to be a special player. I was impressed with him last night. Much more elusive than I thought he would be.

As I stated, he was their best weapon. Going to be fun watching him tote the ball for 3 seasons.
